Are Tatoos Sexy? Anywhere? Not Just the Foot

I remember when Shania went bare midriff and everyone was doing it. I ran music in a small church for awhile and had a university music student come sing. It was fine while she sat in the front row. Then she stood up. Bare midriff! Certainly ended up as an interesting service. LOL! Then I saw 3 young pregnant girls walking midriff downtown. I wanted to run up and say,"Ladies, think about middle-aged men in tight tee shirts with beer guts." OK, so that's my bias.

The midriff has been replaced by the tatoo. So is it sexy?

I dunno but have you seen tattoos on 60 year olds?

Personally, I decided against tattoos because back when I was a kid (Insert your own joke here) there was no DNA. They identified the criminals in those shows by their tattoos. I figured if I ever decided to become a criminal I didn't want a little ink to give me away.

So what's your opinion? Sexy or not?

Tattoos CAN be attractive. On the other hand, they can be the opposite too.

On guys, tattoos anywhere on the arms look nice. Maybe a modest one on the back.
For women, I dig tattoos that are not always visible unless you are looking at the right time or in certain cloths.

And naturally, the design and quality of the tattoo plays a role. Foot tattoos? I have no idea.

A facial tattoo always looks creepy and weird IMO

I really dislike them, I have seen nice ones but not for me. I always think of a good friend that got a bumble bee on her breast in the eighty's, it now looks like a house fly. Then the tramp stamps in the ninety's! Most of my daughter's friends got one and now people make fun of them.To each their own but I have yet to see one that I would want for a life time or one that will stand the test of time in the sexy or fashion sense. If you really want one put it somewhere you can live with it when you decide it was a bad idea!!!

I've got a tattoo of my cat on my right lower inner arm. Most people don't notice it and if they do they just think its cute. Definitely not sexy tho.

Unfortuantely my main opinion comes down to being sexist. Men - sexy about half the time dependent on what its of and where it is as well as how many in total.

Women - no. Plain and simple.

I have two tattoos, a small teddy bear on my shoulder that I got when I was 18. You can only see it when I'm weraing a tank top but even then it's hard to see... it's tiny lol. Is it sexy? No. But it is cute.

My second one I've only had for a month. It's in between my shoulder blades on my back and it's a Celtic motherhood knot with my children's birth flowers on either side. I LOVE it. I wanted something to represent my kids and I'm glad I did it. I don't know if it's sexy or not... to the right man, it probably will be!

I love love love tattoos on men... especially chest and arm band tattoos. I think they are sexy as he!l

Your people have to think about how those more showy tattoos will affect them later...they're not young for ever, and eventually they're going to be out in the real world, looking for real jobs, having families...it's not only about them.

I agree about people going for job interviews with tattoos. Guess they don't think about that when they get it done.

With that being said I do have my kitty that shows on my arm but I sure hope that that wouldn't be an issue for working in the animal field like I do.

I've had phases where I desperately wanted tattoos...but my mother always made it clear to me that she'd disown me lol. I'm 24 years old now, and I think that I still want a tattoo...but then my grandmother made my boyfriend promise her that he would not let me get it. So now my bf has taken up my mom's role.

I think tattoos CAN be sexy on women, depending on the part of the body that it's done on. For instance, I find that rib/side tattoos are really sexy, especially on women with amazing curves . However, I once saw a coworker show her tattoo of a dragon that was hiding under a layer of belly fat...really not sexy. For men, tattoos on pumped up arms look nice...and sometimes on the back. However...as others mentioned, time takes everything away...the body, the ink, the whole idea of having a tattoo. IF someone gets a tattoo, I think it should be meaningful...and not just a random doodle that will stay with you for the remainder of your life.

If I were to get a tat today, I would get it under my breast, where the bra usually rides, with Lao-Tzu's quote "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" because it represents my life more or less. That being said, I probably won't get a tattoo...unless I want to upset my mom, grandma, and boyfriend lol. So not worth it!
