Hi everyone,
Do you know of any deals and trials for gyms or community centres? I am looking for something simple with a great price that includes treadmill, elliptical machine, free weights and running. I am located in Toronto close to the east end but I plan on moving soon slightly north end and I was thinking about the YMCA. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The chain is offering a 14-day pass; check locations of interest for equipment/schedule details--you'll probably find what you want. I only visited the one on Richmond St. W. in 2007 via a friend who had a guest pass for me. I tried to buy into the $19/mo offer for two months in cash but I was told I needed a credit card. So heads up on the credit card if you determine you'd like to continue on with the club (because SCers in Ontario know that fitness clubs and continued charges on cc's after cancellation are a continuing source of consumer angst).
The YMCA Greater Toronto website only has its main page up now as the links and menu options lead to a static page about keyboard controls.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Is there any chance you have a current U of T student in your social circle? They can get a reduced sponsored day pass for you. Or you can get a one-week non member pass for $45.
The equipment:

Thanks for the suggestions Ciel. The Extreme Fitness sounds good but I guess I should be careful of those continued charges. UofT sounds great too but I don't know any students attending. I guess I'll try the YMCA or I may try a local community centre.

The community centres are pretty good. The drop in dance classes are only about $10 or $15 and I think you can get a pass for their machines. Go to a renovated one if you can.
If you are interested in dance too there are lots of local schools or instructors who rent out space in the dance studios. Those usually have low obligations. You pay like $15 per class or can buy a 5 class pass.Apply every possible promo code to your cart, at every store that you visit (and get points for cash back on top of that?).
