You can buy your own modem with wifi and forget anybody ever charging you a rental modem fee. I got mine for like $65.

I just bought it through them, they won't guarantee that others will work (they likely will but if you have a problem they will blame a modem not bought through them) - they are not terribly overpriced through them and you don't have a monthly rental fee and can cancel without them harassing you about their modem and depreciation blah blah

Used Acanac before no issues always fast. My only issue at the time was payment was one time a year. Hard to come up with.
They may have changed since then, not sure.

We've been with Teksavvy since 2006, bought 2 refurbished modems for $20 each at Canada Computers, the modems lasted 6 years.

I got the TP Link TD-8816, they can be found new for $20. I use it with Acanac and it should work with Techsavvy too.

We were going to switch to Teksavvy but we wanted to move our phone too.
They have a contract will Bell and since our number was originally a Bell phone (hasn't been for 6yrs) they can't move our number to them!
We have decided to go with distributel.
