I'm not going to lie, I'm thinking of doing it just for the $100!! I already have a ING direct account so I totally trust them, they're pretty legit with their referral incentive.

I signed up for it, and yet, it's legit. I set up a savings acct for myself using someone's orange key (extra $25), then used my orange key to set up my husbands (extra $25 each). We then set up a chequing acct each and transferred one payroll to each acct (extra $100 each). Any easy $275.00 free, and I actually really like ING! It's a nice "out of sight, out of mind" vehicle for saving, and the customer service is great!

Just a quick question to those have done this, does this completely replace your chequing account with your original bank? if not, whatever money you put into your original bank, does that than get transferred to ing direct account? Thanks :D

It doesn't replace your checking account. It just opens a new one with a different bank. It's easy (and free) to transfer between the two. If you choose to close down your original checking account that is your prerogative.

We still kept our main chequing and savings accounts at BMO. We each have multiple jobs, so we set up the job that pays the least to deposit to our ING chequing accounts. For the savings accounts, we set up an automatic withdrawal from BMO to ING once monthly. Whenever we need the money, we can just contact ING and ask them to transfer it into our BMO accounts. We are saving up for a second vehicle, so it's always a nice surprise to check our ING accounts and see how much they have grown!

You can use ING as your primary as well, I just prefer to be able to go into an actual bank. Not ready to go 100% online yet
