Lucily it wasn't too bad. I felt/smelled it in time and quickly pulled over. There is a hole through the seat, and I think more damage under the seat cover. They're the heated seats that came with my car when I purchased it new from the dealership. I'll be calling tomorrow when I'm feeling better. It was pretty scary though. I was on a back country road, going around a deep s turn. So it was really awkward to pull over. But I knew I had to, or the fire might have ignited the whole seat. I patted it over and over, and made my way home once I was sure the fire was out.

That's seriously insane K8 - I'm glad everything worked out OK in that you got home safely...now to try to deal with getting it fixed etc! :(

I was told it includes insurance up to $100, but you have to actually tell them you want it now as it is not automatically applied. In regards to the # of days; two of three packages I mailed were delivered after the guaranteed delivery date, and when I contacted them to ask for a refund, they told me that it is business days, not total number of days, and that it starts the business day FOLLOWING the day you mailed. So if you mail Friday, it is five days after the following business day, which would be 5 days after Monday. Based on what they told me, a parcel could actually be delivered 10 days after you paid for expedited delivery and it would not be considered late by CP standards. (Eg: If mailed Fri Jan 11th, as long as it is delivered by Mon., Jan 21st, it is not late and does not qualify for a refund). In addition, if it is going more than two provinces away, the timeline could be even longer (They told me to add two business days from Ontario to BC, but the timeline I mentioned earlier is from Ontario to Alberta)...
