I know what you mean. SDM is shady. And maybe starting to get smart? I always thought a mega redemption around Boxing Day, or even a little later, would make more sense. That way you get people spending points to help you clear unsold crap out of your stores.

^ same. i''m not longer getting worried or worked up about anything until i see it with my own two eyes. there has been way too much speculation and "i heard from X that ____ was the deal." i dont want to say anyone is lying but at the same time, how could there be so many different redemption types?? what's the point of wasting time on that when shoppers will just come out with whatever they choose (whether that's a great redemption or nothing at all)

At the end of the day, i don't really care what the redemption will be. Of course 250.00 would be amazing but if its 210.00 oh well, free is free and i will still be happy to get what i can.

We are with you as well, planning on redeeming on Dec 1st anyway, as have the weekend off, so $170 or whatever free is free, the more the better, but either way it will be our 1st larger purchase. Plan to try to get as much for Christmas presents as possible and stock the groceries

Perhaps this is a good lesson for all of us to pay greater attention to prices and promos throughout the year. I get lazy and just wait for a mega redemption at the end of the yr. This might motivate me to redeem during other events, or just when there are good sale prices

If you all got your points for free, sure any redemption level is a good deal. But some (I would think most) people paid for their points, so when they redeem, they are actually making a purchase with money they "banked" in their Optimum account.

    It's confirmed that 38,000 will be $70, 50,000 will be $105 and 95,000 will be $210.

Someone just posted the front page of the flyer on Facebook.

The Terms and Conditions of the SDM program, are below (after outlining the rewards level - i.e. up to $170 for 95,000 points)

From time to time, special promotions may be run during which one or more redemption level(s) may temporarily be altered and/or suspended, new redemption levels added or points may be redeemed directly towards the purchase of specific products or services. Promotions may vary from participating store to participating store and from format to format. (b) Shoppers Drug Mart may, from time to time, offer supplementary programs or promotions related to the Shoppers Optimum Program (“Related Programs”). Such Related Programs may be governed by additional or distinct terms and conditions applicable therein, such terms to be made available at: www.shoppersdrugmart

Legally, there are no guarantees for anything bigger - i.e. special promotions "may be" run

Personally I am delighted with the SDM program and although a tad disappointed there is likely no $250 redemption, I will accept the other and continue to shop at SDM.
