I have a birthday coming up and dh wants me to get something for myself. The problem is that I don't need or want anything. I don't know if I should just get a clothing item. Dh wanted to get me an ipad or ebook reader but I already have a playbook so I don't really need either.
So what would you get yourself. This thread is currently associated with: Apple

An indulgent meal out with loved ones. Steak or ribs or lobster, depending on your tastes ( I love all 3). Things are just things, but a pleasurable evening is just that. And what more can you want?

I wish someone would say that to me! I have a long list of things I need and/or want at the moment but am trying hard to not spend money until I graduate from school!

Oh I know how you feel. My birthday was last week and I was given money, and I have no idea what I am going to spend it on.
I usually just spend it on groceries or buy my kids clothes (I tell myself I am borrowing it and I swear I will pay myself back lol). If I ever want anything, I always just go out and buy it for myself (I do not want much, but when I want something, I want it), so for me getting money does not mean too much. It is nice and all, but....it is the easy gift.Last edited by i_forget; Tue, Oct 16th, 2012 at 10:57 AM. Reason: I blame the Captain....

Coach bag. Or if I had the $$$ a Prada bag. Those bags are timeless.

Cold hard cash...or a VISA gift card. I'm one of those people that likes getting cash for a gift because I spend it a million times in my head before I actually go out and spend it. The dreaming about what I might do with it is the best part. And-- it's the kind of thing you can tuck away for a trip or a rainy day when you spot something special in the store that strikes your fancy.
But you're already sayin' you've got everything you could possibly need and want...so I suppose in that case, it'd be best to go for an "experience" type thing--dinner at an amazing restaurant with the hubs, a spoil-yourself spa day etc.
Whatever you do-- happy early birthday and have fun!"Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle

My husband and I give gifts out of sequence...not too romantic, I know. For example, I got a new d-slr camera and a new laptop when we went to visit my family in Calgary this summer...they were part of my birthday and anniversary gifts that happened at different times of the year. When we first got married, we did buy gifts to surprise each other...now we don't buy just for the sake of buying, but we get what we need, when we need it.
