I was wondering if the Canadian or Ontario government give rebates for buying certain appliances that are energy and water efficient? I bought a new washer that is low water efficient and all three of the new appliances I bought are super energy efficient. When I lived in BC they used to give out rebates for purchasing these types of appliances. But now that I live in Ontario I am not sure if they do that or how do go about doing it. If anyone has information on this that would be excellent! THANKS !

That's a good question! I would suggest you look for the website of your local electrical power supplier for any information. I'm looking at Hydro One's site to see if there is any deal on this month, like BC Hydro's for buying selected appliances with energy efficient profiles.
Darn-don't see anything. There is only the program, semi-annual (spring and fall), for those coupons to save on weatherstripping or lighting products. http://www.hydroone.com/MyHome/SaveE...s/Coupons.aspx
Since you are in Ottawa, might this be your electrical utility supplier?

strangely enough-on the main page of the website, the utility is offering a contest for new appliance package to new subscribers to the e-billing program...2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

You can check this Government site to see if one is available in your area.

if there was a rebate available, the sales people would tell you right away. the stores love to use govt. rebates as sales incentives, instead of actually putting the appliances on sale
