Hi,
I'm looking to buy a good quality laptop from $300-$400 (my budget) 15.6", ethernet, wifi, usb, not too noisy, doesn't get too hot, not too slow. Everyday use...internet, email, youtube, movies...not many games. Any good deals around or brands/models I should look for? Thanks. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

FutureShop and BestBest sell some excellent refurbished units. That's what I bought last time. Haven't had a problem, plus comes with 1 year warranty.

Thanks Mulock. I checked out some of the sales at those stores and found a laptop at Staples Depot. Thanks again for your suggestion.

I find Dell is slow to announce their sales, and then when the sale is active, it's only for a day or two. I would not pay $498 for that particular laptop.

I read online somewhere else that it was a mix up as the one for $329 was supposed to be ubuntu, not windows

Hi,
Thanks I did check the dell site too. I agree with Barbiexxx. The Dell Vostro 2520 Laptop i3 with ubuntu is $349 and the Dell Vostro 2520 Laptop i3 with windows is $419. Just type in "vostro-2520" on the Dell website and you can order it. I went with the Acer i3 on Staples.ca for $399 and I did pay for the environmental tax... total with tax was $465.
