What is the one luxury you couldn't go without?

Many finance books talk about giving yourself an allowance, so you feel like you have some pampering in life. One of my favorite books went a little farther talking about a specific luxury, which seemed better to me. So long as you had that item or experience you could feel like you weren't "going without" no matter how little spending money you had.

Mine was hair dye. So long as I felt my hair wasn't nappy, I could feel like I wasn't pulling myself out of the drudges and never felt like I was poor.

Dior cosmetics and a leather purse from Danier.

Mine is designer clothing/purses, but I won't purchase retail. I purchase everything second hand. I can still dress well in designer clothing but none of it has cost me more than $20 so that way I don't go broke trying to look good! Just picked up a Dior blouse today for 6.99 :)

Beer. Definitely Beer.

a trip once a year. That can either be a weekend away at Niagara Falls, a week away camping, or a week in Cuba (this one took me 2 yrs to save up for, but well worth it).

I hate to admit it, but I have a weakness for jewelry. My hubby has given me like 99% of my jewelry, and he spoils me a lot with new pieces. When I wear the good stuff (and I do quite often) I feel pampered and well loved by my DH. :)
