Updated original post and title with new promos.
if your goal for the new year is to get your finances in order, you can streamline your finances at ING and get up to $125 in bonuses. Pretty great deal!
ING Direct changes to Tangarine Bank this Spring.
At least they have 2.5% interest on select accounts, right now. :shade:

Plus, earn 2.50% interest until April 30, 2014 on new deposits you make to a Tax-Free Investment Savings Account (TFSA) by March 31, 2014.
On January 1, 2013, the annual maximum limit for TFSA contributions increased from $5,000 to $5,500. Plus, up to $5,000 of unused contributions per year can be carried over from 2009-2012. So max out your contribution and start earning 2.50% interest today.
To learn more about the TFSA, check out our TFSA FAQs.
ING direct is a great bank with NO FEES EVER, but it becomes a bit of a pain if you need more than your daily limit through a bank machine (takes a bit of planning ahead), or are in need of a money order...depositing checks has gotten easier with the whole cell phone thing, but I haven't tried that yet....anyone?
Hope it remains the "great bank" it has grown to be with the new image & name change!
Just a reminder of the bonus offers for a TFSA, automatic payroll deposit, and using an orange key. You could get up to $125 in bonuses as a new customer opening a TFSA, and a higher interest rate of 2.50% until April 30th, if you sign up by March 31st, 2014.
There is still a little over one month to get this offer! Check the first post for the updated details.
The name change is coming up soon

unmortgage®
Your existing ING DIRECT unmortgage will be known as the Tangerine Mortgage starting in April 2014. Your mortgage terms will not change, and you’ll continue to have the flexible features that can help you become mortgage-free sooner.
http://www.tangerine.ca/_assets/images/attn-black.jpg You‘ll have to let your home insurance company and your municipal tax department know that the name of your mortgage is changing to Tangerine Mortgage, so that they have the proper Account name on their records. This won’t affect your insurance or property tax rates.
THRiVE Chequing® Account
The no-fee daily chequing Account that actually pays you interest will become Tangerine Chequing in April 2014. New cheques and bank drafts will feature the Tangerine name, but you can continue to use any existing cheques for your THRiVE Chequing Account for as long as you have them. You’ll be able to order new Tangerine cheques in mid-April 2014 on our website.

Is ING a good bank? I want to switch to ING because of the free chequing account
One more bump to remind people they have until March 31st to open a Thrive chequing account, and earn $75 for having your payroll directly deposited. If you sign up now and are concerned about getting your income deposited in time you actually have until April 30th to deposit your pay, but the account has to be opened by March 31st. If you use my orange key (in my signature) and open the account with a $100 cheque, you and I both get a $25 bonus. That's $100 for opening an account.
If you would rather a TFSA you could open that first with the $100 cheque and get $25 for opening that, plus $25 for using my Orange key. Then, once that has gone through you can open the Thrive chequing account by March 31st to start the process of getting your payroll deposited by April 30th. That would be a total of $125!
I had my pay deposited on a Wednesday and had the bonus deposited by the next Wednesday - they are very quick on paying out their bonuses, and a great bank to deal with. Message me if you have any questions. :)
Please feel free to use my Orange Key in my signature below :)
