Fun ?? Really? Not suite sure how breaking my stuff and stealing it qualifies as "fun". I have literally thousands of dollars worth of decorations that I put out for the kids in my neighborhood. A few morons are not going to spoil it for them. Next year I will be waiting in the bushes with a baseball bat. We'll see how much "fun" they have then.

Oh we never broke stuff. We just did things to pumpkins mostly. And i do feel genuine remorse.

Handed out treats tonight - I am so glad the rain stopped after school and the kids were able to trick or treat (theres lots of kids that walk the neighborhood, so I am so happy the rain stopped just long enough for the trick or treaters). I made close to 200 treatbags (made 60 more today as the kids "liberated" some of the bags I made up weeks ago), and I only have 4 left over, so we had lots come to the house.

We took our little guy out. We only did about twelve houses, but still filled up a big basket. He's not even two so it was more for us anyway!

I'm amazed by how many people I talked to today who are not handing out candy! I've always thought that not handing out candy was kind of not an option, and that it was part of the social contract to hand out candy on Hallowe'en! As a kid, I figured people in those few darkened houses were either out of the house working or stingy and weird -- and we never came upon many darkened houses! Tonight, our neighbours (a twenty-something couple) didn't bother turning lights on, even though we saw them come home from work. The people across the street left their house dark. Last year, their kids came around looking for candy, but when my young son and I went to their door, nobody answered! Lots of humbugs this year. People around the lunch table said that they either got less than 20 kids or didn't have kids who trick or treated anymore, so they weren't bothering to hand out candy. I'm disappointed! I'm sure they liked going trick or treating as kids! I hope trick or treating doesn't become a thing of the past!

We had a MUCH quieter night than last year. A lot of it was the rain. The kids usually circle lots of blocks in good weather but this year everyone was getting soaked and cold much faster so there was a lot less kids out. Especially the younger ones. We have tons of candy left over.
