Ok, this has nothing to do with coupons, but need to know if i was seeing things.
I was driving down Queenston Road last night and saw outside of Tony Romas (across from Canadian Tire/Sobeys)
and swore I saw a sign that says Coming Soon: Mothers Pizza Parlour & Spaghetti House.
anyone else notice that????This thread is currently associated with: Canadian Tire, Sobeys

I remember two things about the old Mother's Pizza Parlour on Upper James Street:
1) I was disappointed when I got my spaghetti order because it was not like what I got at home (meat sauce over cooked spaghetti) when I was around 10 years old: my order was a plateful of cooked spaghetti, two meatballs and a sprig of parsley. I know I left most of the spaghetti alone after I had the meatballs. It had to have been hard for Mom to see me leave food but she understood why.
2) Mother's staff put a lit sparkler on one's cake or pizza if there was a birthday person in a group.
I was a teenager the last time I ate at Mother's-it was with a afterschool club and the teachers treated us to pizza.Last edited by Ciel; Thu, Nov 15th, 2012 at 11:01 PM.

yeah I noticed it too.....tony roma's owner apparently moved to the old kelsey's (now it is supposed to be armadillos).....but it was supposed to open in June or July....I have a feeling it won't be opening....apparently he left the tony roma's location due to the owner of the building not fixing problems wiht the structure....but I think it was more of a not paying rent issue....
It will be interesting to see if Mother's opens before armadillos....

April 1 is opening day for the parlour. I anticipate that anyone who remembers the restaurants of the 80s will be going down nostalgia road with friends soon!

I`ve never been to a Mother`s pizza but years ago I worked for a drapery company that made their window curtains. I remember them well...beige lace.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, there's always tomorrow-it is one day away!
I see the contemporary part-yellow signpost and muted bisque interior-no more pizza parlour decor! Interesting wheel lighting (no Tiffany lamps).2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Thank you for providing the update on the lighting, Sunshyne1! Guess the light fixtures are part of the "old" Mothers restaurant chain that was kept to be blended with the "new" Mothers elements.
The checkered seatbacks are a hoot to see!2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

The wallpaper in the photos of the 1980s...glad that is no longer around!
I see a picture of Pop Shoppe pop. There used to be a store on Queenston just for that very soda.
Last time I had this soda, I was in Burlington a few years ago and saw the soda in a coffee shop on Lakeshore Rd, across from Spencer Smith Park.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
