Which is best brand for wireless router
We use, and completely stand by Linksys for our router; the big thing for us is the fact that we are able to run our own firmware (Tomato) which we would highly recommend to anyone that is not a novice user.
What you need to remember though is that a lot of devices cannot use 802.11n, typically they will be b/g such as a PS3 if you have one, so don't go spending mega $$ just to get 802.11n when you can easily get a Linksys router that is b/g/n and run it mixed so all your devices can use the wireless at home.
It seems TP-link, Cisco are good. depends on you.
What level of tech skills do you have? What's your budget?
The truth is most routers targeted for home use suck big time. We use pfSense on a 1U linux box. You could build one from recycled parts pretty cheaply. You would probably only need to get the network cards.
I know this is a completely outdated post, but I need to setup a firewall for my computer, but have no idea where to start. Can anyone help me?
