Great. Thanks for the info. I've been looking for this.
Wasn't it $25 before to fill a box?
I see it's now $40.

Yeah it was $25 last month ... and it was a bunch of hoops and yoyo stuff and some picture frames. Seriously unless you really like those figures, how could one fill up a box?! Mind you I did not go when it first opened, so maybe all the better stuff was picked up already.
They were very unfair too in regards to "closing the box". I saw a lady with a box that could not be closed (so they taped it with the top wide open) and nothing was said to her. While at least two other people behind her were told to take some items out, when one of the man questioned why the other lady was let through with a box that did not close, the employee actually said that it was her call?! wtf lol. I was standing close to the washroom with the baby so I got to witness the "excitement".
If you end up going, I would be there right when it opens, especially since it is Christmas items - I will pass on this one. Maybe next month it is $60 a box

i was one of the first people in line and we waited over 2 hrs in line and it was pure CRAP right from when it opened!!
i've been going to these sales for years, i found out about them because dh's office is right down the street and i used to go when it was open weekly, i believe. the stuff i used to get there was UNBELIEVABLE!!! even the first fill a box sale was pretty good but last month...i was blown away at how downright awful it was. i just can't waste a huge sale day like black friday on taking a gamble on hallmark again
as for their box policy, that's how they seem to be!! at the summer sale, they told me to take things out to close my box. i had a few very large gift bags that were bigger than the box which was preventing the box from closing, not because it was too full. so i had to fold them up or take them out. i folded them because i figured that was just their policy, but half of the people there had boxes that weren't closing and they let them through anyways!! wth?!

Justamy - you waited in line for 2 hours last month?! Oh man, I would have been so disappointed. I surely do hope that there is way better stuff now that the box is $40. Maybe someone from SmartCanucks will go and will inform us all
I used to go before they started the "fill up the box" as well and most of the time scored some really good stuff. Remember the wrapping paper 10 rolls for $1, boxes of Christmas cards for $1, beautiful frames for $5 etc

Wow. It sounds like it's changing and not for the better it seem.
I use to go, have been going for years.
Haven't gone for this year that's why I have been inquiring to see when it
would be, so that I could go and get some great deals like I use to.
Now I'm not so sure if it's worth it to go anymore.

The one last year was pretty awesome for me - I ended up getting my wedding thank you cards for really cheap - I might swing by - but the hours suck! Wishing they would do til 9pm on Friday night... Good luck to others going!

I couldn't load your flyer attachment. Does it say there will be any ornaments for sale?

For $40 and a few hours wait I will prefer to go somewhere else then buying "old" hallmark stuffs. I know it will be a few hours wait at other stores during the black friday deals but at least I am buying current year stuffs. How can you use "old" hallmark stuffs as Xmas gifts? Hallmark shouldn't do "fill up a box". They just want us to clean up all their garbage.

Thanks everyone - i am SO glad I read this thread! I went to the summer one, just to get some red tissue paper and some ribbon, and I didn't know it was 'fill a box' till i got there. i didn't bother buying anything - i didn't want to get a whole bunch of stuff that would just take up space to make it 'worth while'. This time i was really just aiming for some christmas cards and bows - obviously not worth the trek out there at that price!
I will be sad if this is a sign of the future - in the past I have got some great stuff there at great prices (heck, i bought the blank invitation sets that i used for my wedding invitations this year - they worked great and cost me 10cents each! I bought all my thank you cards there, and i have enough flat gift wrap to last me forever!)

I went to this fill a box for $40 and it was great. I went to the one in October and bought 2 boxes (stuff for b-day parties) and my total was $67 with wrapping paper. I went to this one and got 2 boxes at $40 and some xmas wrapping paper the great big 90ft rolls for 25cents and my total was $84. The selection was great. They had recordable picture frames, Christmas recordable photo albums, ornaments, christmas cards galore. I got home and totaled up my boxes (just for fun) and it was $1678. Tons of great gifts for people I am pretty much done. I was happy I went to this sale.
PM me for either or both glymm or luxe box referrals
