Does anyone have a recipe for mulberry jelly? We have a large mulberry tree with ripe fruit and I'd like to put it to some good use.

Cinpow, how much onion and ginger do you use to make a jar of this ginger & green onion? Sounds and looks yummy.

I was trying to preserve the left over gingers and green onions before they goes bad, so I didn't record the exact amount. But I would say its about two full bunches of green onions, and two big pieces of gingers. Use the chopper to chop up the gingers and cut the green onions by hand. Mix the ginger and green onion together, stir in salt. Put oil(enough oil to cover the ginger and green onions) in a pan, heat the oil until you see smoke, remove the oil from stove and let cool for 10 mins, pour the oil over the Ginger onions mixture, stir and let cool before canning.

Made refrigerator pickles today as I had a bunch of cucumbers I got for $.09 each. Super easy...I l jar uses 1/2 cup vinegar, 3 teaspoons pickling salt, Clove garlic and 2 tablespoons of fresh dill. Slice cucumbers really thin...used mandolin to make it quick and easy...put everything in jar and put in fridge. Give a shake every couple of hours. Yummy! Looks like not much liquid but salt brings out juices in cucumber so after a couple of hours cucumbers are covered in liquid?

Made some strawberry freezer jam yesterday. I like to use the Garden Fare gelling powder instead of the pectin because it uses a lot less sugar. We ate some on fresh bread and vanilla ice cream. It was delicious.

I canned up some cherry pie filling! I used a bick style pen shell to pit the cherries. 34 cups of cherries later.... LOL It is the best cherry pie filling I have ever had. I found out what I don't like about store bought... it has cinnamon in it. I just can't like it. I ended up with a full 9 liters of pie filling after I ate a few cherries! Now I am going to need more clear jel.

It is not like I stood at the counter for hours. I sat on my butt on my old black leather sofa... the floors are laminate so everything wiped clean. I am going to pit a bunch more to make my kickin cherry BBQ sauce.
