I got my Wii U @ SDM this morning by redeeming :D

I can't share with the kids but I am so excited. The kids learned about the Wii U next year when Nintendo did a promo on the Wii channel. They begged me to go watch it and we looked up the release date and it said TBA 2012. I've been watching all year and when they said possibly around Christmas, I knew I wanted to redeem points for it.

I called the local 24hr SDM to see if they would release at midnight, they said yes but they had about 35 calls so far. I decided to try my neighborhood one first. I got there at 7:40 and no one was there. The store had one in stock and at 8 when they opened. I GOT IT !!!

I didn't get bonus points or sale or anything but I didn't want to take the chance on a Bonus or Mega and them be sold out.

My kids are going to freak out.

WTG I got the xbox for my DD when they had the $220 redemption. Like you I didn't want to take a chance and not get it on Mega day.

Yeah , very unlikely they will have them in stock by then.

Its a hot item this X'Mas and its going to be hard to find in most electronic stores , let alone SDM.

I wonder if you could return it on super redemption day on Dec 1st if you used 95000 points today to buy it, and just rebuy it Dec 1st because the points are worth more money on that day. If you returned it would they just put back the 95000 points on your optimum card? Has anybody ever did this before with an item?

Awesome. I didn't want to wait for redemption either to try and get electronics. I picked up my sons PS3 on 20X on saturday. Now I can relax and not have to worry about it being in stock on mega redemption.
