I 'm so sorry to hear of your terrible experience. Sometimes bad luck happens and what's worse is when the employees try to cover their faults by feeding false lies. It's happened to me before and it was a hassle wasting my time in fixing another person's inadequacy.
Anyway, I hope it'll get fixed soon. That was the only negative experience I've heard from Koodo before. I am on their service as well, and recently switched into that $30 Canada-wide plan with 150 minutes + 250 mb data + free evenings/weekends + caller ID + picture texting etc without any trouble. What I am amazed at is that they even set up an account using someone else info to do a credit check with out them being there, sorry to say but I do work for a cell phone company and if someone were to ask me I would deny them on the spot without that person being there, not only that the person that the credit check is done on is the customer on the account
Only thing that they can do is
1. you do your own credit check to have it in your name unless you are under 18
or
2. under your dad's name C/O your name however your dad would have to be there when you set this up
such reasons this should never happen is identity theft regardless if your family or not - you wouldn't believe what some people try to pull offLast edited by Peachykeen2007; Fri, Mar 15th, 2013 at 12:34 AM.

I've been with Koodo for a few years and I'm happy with the service. One time my bill arrived with a $100 plus charge in addition to my normal phone bill. I phoned customer service, they dealt with it immediately, and deleted it. I find it strange too, they would set up an account using someone's else's info for a credit check without them being present. The employee should not be doing that..

Sorry to hear. I also love Koodo and would recommend them to anyone. Been with them for almost 2 years now.
Fido on the other hand - Had an issue that I had to bring to the Ombudsman. And even then I wasn`t reimbursed to my content.

I have read through all these wonderful endorsements of Koodo. I am one who had a BAD experience with them. I signed up with them against my better judgement as I only use about $10 a month, & the plan my husband was on cost about $35 to $40. I thought that with the 2 phones it should balance out. By the taxes and services charges, etc added on, we were paying almost $100 a month. There was supposedly no "contract" but we were late for a payment by 3 days & our service was cut off. After I paid it, I called Koodo to get the phones turned back on & was very rudely informed that they would do it this time, but if we were late again, don't expect the same service. Needless to say we went to our old plan as it was not only cheaper, but the service reps were more pleasant.
It was on my credit report went I was at the bank last week, even though the balance was ZERO. Even the loans manager couldn't figure out that one

If (or when should it be) I leave Telus, I'll be going to Koodo.

That rep should of been fired, I used to work at Virgin. We were told not to do that because it's fraud right there, unless that person who the id belongs to was present and put you as the secondary user.
This isn't worth the comission or the legal back lash

You cannot do a credit check on somebody who does not give you direct permission, that's illegal and the company/employee could be charged! (If it did indeed happen, which is highly likely, given the OP hasn't even posted anything but this post)... I love Koodo! Been with them for over a year now, and my plan never costs me more than $35/month, this includes unlimited text and all taxes and fees!!!
