great to hear you guys did well last night. Thumb up to Ikea for proving people with indoor shelter for a chilly night.
Just have a question for you: I read on Facebook and someone said that the box with the $75 giftcard given away today had an expiry for the giftcard until 2 Dec 2012. Does it mean the giftcard must be spent by 2 Dec or the balance will be void after that? My hubbie won a giftcard from Ikea vending machine tour but he just keeps the GC and threw away the box so I am not sure if the fine print about expiry date was applicable or notVisit my blog: www.mommy-heart.blogspot.com

I'd use it by Dec 2, so it doesn't go to waste.....

I was checking out all the winnipeg news videos about it, did see me. I saw 2 interviews with people who had a b-day yesterday. The guy who 1st in line kept saying he hoped he got a extra gift, which I don't think he did unless it's a bunch of media attention.
I saw a video of a bunch of people running to the front door, that was funny. Someone should have brought their bike at that time and would have easily beat all the runners.
I never saw anywhere where it said the Gift Card would expire. The staff told me twice that it doesn't expire, If I use it next year and it's expired I'll tell them what I was told and hopefully they would give me another.
I earned $50 in Amazon Gift Cards in my first month at Swagbucks!!

Just want to confirm this (thanks again Peachy) in writing from IKEA headquarter customer service :
"Thank you for getting back to us. We apologize for the misinformation and in order to rectify the issue, we reached out to Winnipeg management and they confirmed that the IKEA gift cards given out to our customers on opening day do not have an expiry date. In general, IKEA gift cards do not expire."Visit my blog: www.mommy-heart.blogspot.com

I think I'll stay away from IKEA for the next few months. It's bound to be crazy.
