'Tis-the-Season Pretzel Wreaths Makes 6 (First for Women, Dec. 17, 2018 issue)
Active time: 15min. Total time: 1 hr 15 min.
60 whole-wheat pretzel twists
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
assorted sprinkles (photo shows red and green sprinkles, mini-stars, mini Xmas trees, pearl type non-pareils on finished wreaths along with some frosted cranberries and other frosted red berries)
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
On a rack set on top of baking sheet, arrange 5 pretzels in a circle (the large bottom pretzel curve of each twist faces outwards). Repeat 5 times (make 5 more circles on the rack).
In heatproof bowl, microwave dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals until melted; spoon (melted chips) around the inner edges of 3 circles. Top each circle (of the three you just coated) with 5 more pretzels, staggering to form wreath shapes. Spoon remaining dark chocolate around inner edge (of each of the three circles you just made). Decorate with sprinkles as desired.
In another heatproof bowl, microwave white chocolate in 30-second intervals until melted; spoon around inner edges of remaining 3 pretzel circles (the one-tier ones). Top each with 5 pretzels (stagger them as you did for the dark chocolate ones' 2nd tiers); spoon remaining white chocolate over inner edges. Decorate wreaths with sprinkles as desired.
Chill wreaths 1 hour or until set.Last edited by Ciel; Wed, Dec 5th, 2018 at 05:22 PM.

Raspberry Rosemary Jam bars:
https://www.cookinglight.com/recipes/raspberry-rosemary-jam-bars
I used all-purpose flour instead of whole-wheat flour and large flake oatmeal for the kind in the recipe. Plus frozen raspberries and no cornstarch. I reduced the brown sugar to 1/2 cup as the jam has the added sugar. It turned out fine after cooling (which helps the bar stay more or less together when you put apart the cut bars). Since I did not have fresh rosemary sprigs, I measured out 1/2 tbsp dried rosemary and used a mortar and pestle to break up the dried rosemary before adding it to the jam.

I am going to have to stop buying cream cheese when GT has sales. I had the odd 30 grams of it spread on celery etc. but for the most part a no-no on the Dr. Poon plan, so I end up making a 7 layer taco/nacho style dip for the guys, or a cherry cheesecake. These last 2 pkgs were going to expire soon, so I made a cheesecake.
Only bought 1 ready made graham crust at the Dollar store, and the filling was too much for it.
So I crumbled some coconut cookies into a glass dish and spread the remainder of the filling in there, topped that with 1/2 can blueberry pie filling.
Chill and it's done!
I asked DH " what could I do with this other half a can of blueberry filling? " and he says " well....it would go very nicely on the waffles " uh....what waffles ? Oh!! he meant the ones I might make! ha ha ha

I grew up having these as a treat. I have not tried the revamped one yet, and at $2.50, I am not sure I will. People who remember the original well say it has too much dark chocolate - the old one was milk chocolate.
Last time I remember buying them was when my son was little and we had already moved to Saskatoon. They would be in a basket near the till. They were three for a dollar!
For Christmas every year, I make the chocolates called Cuban Lunch - don't know why someone named them that, they are yummy but taste nothing like the chocolate bar did.
(Great, so now I want chocolate!)

September 2019 issue of Family Circle has 4 sheet pan variations on brownies. I thought the Birthday Cake Cookie Bars were worth mentioning to the bakers on SC!

Metro has a video for Feisty Cherry Pie Bars made with flavoured Diet Coke. No ingredient list --but the bakers on SC can likely figure out the pie crust and quantities shown.
