Question about returns with redemption items??

I have a question, it may be answered here somewhere but I wanna know your thoughts or if its possible.

I purchased a Philips Electric Shaver for my husband on one of my redemptions, it was $59.99, I wasn't aware there was a $20 coupon on smartsource.ca for it, and now that I do see there is a coupon for it I feel kind of poopy over wasting $20 in redemption money. I was wondering if it would be possible to return it and re-purchase it with the coupon?? I'm not opposed to buying things without coupons, but if there is a coupon available for something and I don't use it I feel stupid :(

Anyone have thoughts on this?? Is it possible??

I think it depends on the store you go to, if theyll allow you to repurchase it at all with a coupon. But refunds using pts will go back on to a store gc. They may not give you the same price if $59 was the sale price for that week as well.

Thank you, the shaver wasnt actually on sale, so I think I'd be ok there. It was regular priced. I'm also super ok with it going on a GC, I shop there all the time anyway, I just hate the thought of wasting money when there was a printable there I didnt know about :( boo me

I bought an Xbox game $ 59.00 with my redemption points, Went to another shoppers to do another redemption and found the game on sale for $ 19.00
We talked to the supervisor about our problem with paying and losing $ 40.00 worth of redemption. She phoned the shoppers where we bought the game for $ 59.00
and asked them what are you going to do to make this right. They didn't want to do anything, and the supervisor was not happy with that and continued to talk with the other supervisor. When she was done, she told us, I will keep this copy of the game for you as it was the only one left, the other store will give you cash back for the one you bought.
We went back and did the refund, then went and did the 2nd redemption, tax on our final bill was $ 30.00 so we came out up $ 10.00

Sorry for taking so long with my story, But you should be able to return with out any trouble, and maybe just buy it at another shoppers with the coupon and no one
will ever know why you did the refund. :-)

6. Returns and/or exchanges will be honored only if the original cash register receipt is presented at the time of the return and/or exchange. On a return and/or exchange the Shoppers Optimum Points will be deducted automatically from the Shoppers Optimum Member’s card number that was used for the original purchase (whether or not the Shoppers Optimum Card is presented at the time of return and/or exchange). The Shoppers Optimum Member will be reimbursed for the purchase price shown on the receipt of the item(s) returned. Wow. I too redeemed for a Phillips electric shaver. The very next day discovered a 5.00 coupon that I could have used. Went to take it back to the store last night to see if I could return and purchase it again using coupon. As I slowly drove by the store I could see 2 of my least favorite cashiers working so decided to wait. Now you're telling me I could save 20.00 off the 63.00 I redeemed. I have to FIND OUT! I am *hoping* to return 4 boxes of Huggies & get the Pampers that are on sale this week. I got the Huggies because that was what was on sale, but really prefer pampers. I'm hoping they are okay with it, as I plan to spend the money immediately in-store.

I did my first return last night on an item that was bought with point. Had no issue whatsoever and it was even an electronics item! Bought the Kindle during October's bonus redemption and then found out you could not borrow ebooks from the Library with a Kindle (the only one not compatible). The box was still sealed. My gift card was handed to me with a :-)! I had asked a friend who works there if I could return it and her response was 'It depends on who is working the counter' so if you get turned down by one person, don't give up!

You should've kept researching. You can borrow from the Kindle library. And Kindle has thousands of free books that change daily. You get those books to keep...no long wait lists at the library.


JENNY - you should have no problems returning it.
You SHOULD get a gd back but sometimes they give you cash.
Do it on a 20x the points day! lol Might as well earn some points on it if you have more to buy!

Really I think the only issue is on 20x points days. Then you lose all 20x the base points for that product (ex 590*19). I'm not sure if you lose even more if the return takes you under the $$ amount for the 20x bonus.

thank you for all the input everyone, I won't be returning it on 20x points day ( although that seems like a wonderful idea ) I will have to wait until the 21st when my husband gets home as I don't want to take the kids there. from all the info you guys have given me I don't think I will have a problem with it.
