Couponing in downtown Montreal really sucks.
I've been a couponer for about two years now and quite honestly, I've had mostly only negative experiences. I live downtown because my boyfriend is in university and I'm 3 blocks away from my work, which means we don't need a car (and can't really afford one either). While a lot of things are readily available here, couponing opportunities are really scarce. The grocery stores never have any tearpads or coupons available. The coupons at my SDMs in my area are always taken clean off the day they are put up. There are no Walmarts and employees in most stores are really rude. I get flyers the day before they're in effect and no scratch cards because people keep raiding my area. I can't get a decent stockpile because my apartment is tiny and because I'm in Quebec, trading (french) coupons is really hard. If I get English coupons though, employees use that as a reason not to accept them, because they supposedly don't understand them.
Thanks for reading everyone. I've had a particularly rough day and after a hard day's work, hoping for a scratch card, I was disappointed. Days like this make me wonder if it's worth the trouble... :frown:
