It seems really bad this year for most people.

This cold started with 1 kid having a sore throat, then sniffles, and he was better in a couple days; so I blame him lol

    Hope everyone gets better soon!

I so feel for all of you with colds. I have had one (stuffy beyond belief, sore throat, now nasty cough and exhaustion I think from lack of good sleep). This has been with me for a month so am wondering if I should see a Dr.? So tired out.

You are right. People with asthma should get a flu shot.

Secret of a trauma free needle
    - relax your arm
    - take deep breaths
    - look away

My issues with needles come from blood work; they always have to go in the back of my hands with a butterfly.

But I have tattoos... go figure LOL

So you should be o.k. with needles since you know the pain experienced getting the tattoos.

I have found that for colds and flu Vitamin C in big amounts helps a lot. Big amounts meaning 10 grams per day taken in 3-4 doses. If you are very sensitive, then high doses will cause watery stools (no pain though). I highly recommend vitamin C as preventative measure too. In this case you take about 5 grams per day. Take care and I hope you will get better very soon.

Well, the exertion and the cold air resulted in a ten-minute coughing fit that did something to my ribs. Driving, reaching, yawning, coughing, and rolling over in bed have all been excruciating, and despite being given prescription anti-inflammatories, the pain hasn't let up much since. With everything I'm trying to get done in preparation for Christmas, I think I'm preventing things from healing properly.

I'm terrified of catching something else! Having to sneeze would just about do me in at this rate!
You need to take a me day. I know it's hard with the holidays approaching quickly, but your body is telling you that you need rest!

Unfortunately, this years flu shot will onlyt help with next years flu season (supposedly) But a flu shot every year is always a good idea!
