Loblaws and Canadian Tire are getting ready to compete with Target.
Walmart and Target will be direct competitors.
But Loblaws has the Joe Fresh clothing line that will compete directly with Target. Canadian Tire’s Mark Work Wear House and CT small appliances will compete with Target.

This means better prices for consumers, at least at the beginning when Target store open. Loblaws and Canadian Tire will try to keep their customers.

Target stock, Loblaws stock and Canadian Tire stock are all doing well.

Just a few stores open in March and then these stores will have their Grand Opening in April.

We have no Target here as the space was too small for them I think. 45,000 sq feet of the old zellers is being taken over by Urban Planet by late summer. That leaves another 30,000 sq feet that the mall says can be 1 tenant or 2 tenants at 15,000 each they are still determining what to do.

Still, if a Target is located close to where you live, the competitors will try to adjust prices to keep existing customers. I think you will still benefit. Also, price matching using printed flyers may be allowed with the retailers that are available in your area.
