Some of the most offensive garbage is in the Health Foods aisle. processed garbage!
Anything in a box or a bag is just as evil regardless of whether it is in the health foods aisle or in the cookies/crackers/chips aisle

Health food is a whole other evil marketing ploy. Love how the gluten free market exploits my 3 year-olds eating condition to make money and raise my grocery bill. This why we cook from scratch as much as possible. Anything else is a treat.
Oh yes! When I was doing gluten free very strictly I was appalled by the processed packages of things with terrible ingredients in them with a GF label slapped on it like that made any difference. Real food is the only way to go, it is true Lynn about " the way you feel " Like you when I lost a great deal of weight I was telling anyone that would listen it was NOT really about the weight it was how I felt inside my tummy.
I miss that feeling now, soon I will be good to myself again.
And the more unhealthy the food is, the less expensive it is, once again preying on those less able to take care of themselves and their families.
If they can buy a Quarter Pounder Meal Deal which includes fries and a coke for about $5, why choose a salad for the same price?! If someone is actually hungry, you know which one they'd choose!
A Quarter Pounder without cheese has the same calories as their Chicken Santa Fe Salad! Which one would anyone assume would fill them up better? Then there's that unmistakable taste, and the smell of fries being pumped throughout the place....choice? There's really no choice there.
I love Subway. Whenever we are traveling or just need to stop to eat at least we can get veggie subs or their salad bowl which is pretty big for $5. Plus you can't throw a rock without hitting a Subway :P
Oh totally agree! On one of "those nights" whenever we didn't want to cook, Hubby would head over a few blocks to pick up a Subway sub...even Biggest Loser does ads for them. I love the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki!
Great.
I want one now.
But I WILL stick to this new way of eating right through the SuperBowl! No 5 layer dip, no wings, no spinach dip, nachos...nada. I stocked up on fresh veggies, I have a light blue cheese dressing I'm going to cut with fat free sour cream, whole wheat crackers with Laughing Cow cheese and some salsa...who needs artery-clogging football food!!?:mmph:
- 0.8 (190.6) It would have been more but I gained around 2 Ibs this weekend all because of the woman I continue to still like at work ended up hurting me emotionally a few times by her actions, though I'm not sure if it was intentional. Just need to try to be stronger I guess.
great job everyone on the weight loss, curt sorry to hear about the hammer and your face, Ashley congrats on not eating a cupcake and everyone else thank you for your warm welcome. I have eaten 3 square meals a day plus fruits, veggies & popcorn as snacks....so even though I am not hungry at lunch I still make myself something to eat as I know I need to. Many years of skipping meals and bad habits have given me a carb butt (lol) but now I am lowering my intake of bread products as much as possible which is difficult as I love noodles...sigh. And I agree with everyone with respect to unhealthy foods being so cheap vs. the healthier choices of fruits & veggies. I certainly wish that food prices were regulated so everyone could afford to make better choices whatever their financial situations. Again thanks everyone for your warm welcomes and breakfast options!
Hey, at least it's going in the right direction~!
You must be drowning in your clothes right about now....good progress, Curt!
I'm thinking you may be a little sensitive about the gals at work; unless they're terrible, hurtful people, most people just go about their business yakking and joking around...We tend to think people think about us more than they do, lol...most people are more concerned about themselves...Keep your head held high, smile a lot, and cinch in that belt! :)
Super Bowl Sunday was fun. yes the nacho/salsa, cream cheese dip thingy, ( homemade but still bad ) homemade turkey burgers, and appetizers ( store bought coconut shrimp, mini sausage rolls, and veg dumplings ) to munch during Bruno Mars spot!
This morning I started the day with a tall fresh mean green juice, hope to flush out the bad eating by Wednesday.
Congrats to you Curt! I forget what your heaviest weight was now, but I am sure it has been a great deal lost already. Just fabulous!
There was a football game ? :P
Ah, yes, the good old days..our Superbowl parties, 20 couples cheering, the food, the drinks...Yesterday? Hubby and I since my BFF passed away in August (they used to join us every year), pop, coffee, and my big snack was homemade sourcream/grated cucumber/mint dip with fresh mushrooms. Sigh. But I have a weigh-in this morning, and believe me, if I was not going to be held accountable, I really might have cheated! I did have a Fibre 1 chewy chocolate/caramel bar before bed.
So. Walks. Back on the wagon again? Good for YOU! Happy NYOU Year! A new you...healthier, happier, sexier!
What a weird game last night...Manning may have been the most depressed person on earth after that game. He never even got to play! The Seahawks were absolutely invincible..it was magic watching them.
Now on to the Combine, the Draft (sniff), the Olympics...we've got a LOT to take our minds off food this month!! I uploaded another cheesy book on my ipad, so that keeps me from wanting to nosh too much at night, which is normally my most difficult time. I have my diet (sucralose) pop, and then my Fibre 1 bar, and I'm good to go. A cut-up apple, sprinkled with brown sugar Splenda, cinnamon, then nuked until almost soft if I feel having like an apple pie.
Have a great week, everyone!!!
