Good morning all! It stayed the same meaning I actually lost 6 pounds since last Friday!! Woot Woot!! ( yeah so what if 4 of them were the ones I regained the week prior eh? lol) The all veg soup did the trick, so last nioght I made another big pot, this time using kale for the first time in my life! I just never considered kale, never ate it growing up, but it is very much like spinach in a soup anyways. All the regulars were in the pot along with Mr Kale, cabbage, carrot, onion, spinach, celery, gai lan and the No salt added chicken broth as the liquid.

I love kale!! i got 4 big bunches at sami fruit yesterday $1.29 each, gonna steam them with chinese noodles and edamame.

We just got up. I'm just over my bronchitis, but hubby is in the middle of it, so he coughed thru the night giving neither of us sleep (he can sleep thru my coughing), and Jenny is still tucked in under the blankets. She's definitely not a morning person.
DD only had one client today, so she'll be here for coffee in an hour.....Have a great weekened, everyone!!!!!

Guys, I know that even my little weight loss, and yours may not amount to a lot but trust me..that's how I lost those 50+ lbs last year...yes it's a challenge, and yes sometimes it's one step forward and one step back, but keep the vision of you future self in your mind's eye and you WILL get there. Giving up isn't an option and it's what got us here in the first place. This isn't a race, it really is a lifestyle change forever! Eat like a skinny person and you'll Be one!
Our DD has a friend who just started WeightWatchers, and Dd asked me how many points I was allotted...I said 29, but I never went over 25, and usually kept it around 20-25, tops. Her friend was allotted 31, and " she cooks like a chef" and feels really hard done by. Really?! Cooking " like a chef" , evidently GOT her into this mess, and why would she think that she could eat the same and lose weight?! She complained that peanut butter has 3 point /tsp. That's why I never ate the stuff! Sheesh!
Anyway. Point is...yes it's a change, but it's also not impossible or even difficult if the right choices are made. Her friend just doesn't seem to get it....there isn't a magic bullet...it's work. Every day.

So here ya go: hubby just got home from babysitting our grandson (I was there until he fell asleep, then came home to be with Jenny, and our SIL drove him home after he took our DD for her b'day dinner)....anyway. He gets home, feels peckish, and toasts a couple of slices of the sweet raisin bread I baked yesterdayl Does it smell absolutely fabulous? Yes! Do I want to go into the kitchen and toast and slather butter on a couple of slices myself? Absoflippenlutely! But did I? No.
Because I might as well hold those two slices on the outside of my hips and look in a mirror to get the general effect of what those will do to me.
Not pretty.
So I inhale that lovely aroma and get ready for sleep, while he catches up on his Marchmadness games.
It's like that: dieting. Choices. Day in....and day out.
Make the right ones 90% of the time, and you'll be a LOSER!! In the best sense of the word.
