I LOVED the 70's.....best memories of my life! I was at the right age to go to the discos, loved disco music....and hang out with older boys lol
I just wish my memory for details was a bit better lol
I remember Seafarer jeans, Frye boots, KC & the Sunshine Band , overalls and of course, polyester ? I remember having a pair of black and white platform shoes that I absolutely had to buy. Mary Tyler Moore show, and all the other great tv shows that I still love!

Oy, You Light up my Life done by Patti Smith is absolutely horrendous!
We did it at the convent as a 250 voice all-girls choir - that was phenomenal! However, I love the original!

Remember the Carol Burnett show and her version of "Feelings"!
This was another one of my favourites, when she played Scarlett with the drapery dress!

I LOVED Columbo!!! I'm missing one of the DVDs to complete the collection (got Season 6 & 7 for Xmas, just missing one of the movie collections).
The first show I remember watching was Mod Squad. Never watched the kids shows, mostly murder mysteries with my Mom (my Dad worked nights). And I would come home from school for lunch and watch reruns of Leave it to Beaver and Flintstones with my Mom.
Anyone else ever watch Definition? And what was with the prizes on Canadian game shows? The grand prize always seemed to involve Turtle Wax???

Gosh, I loved Definition! Jim Perry!
Also watched Beat The Clock, Headline Hunters, Front page challenge, This is the law.
It was such a huge deal in the mid-1970s when we got cable tv!
Biggest thrill was being able to watch SNL!Last edited by Natalka; Sat, Jan 5th, 2013 at 09:16 AM.

I wish I were born a few years earlier so I could have enjoyed the 70's in all it's glory!
My first real memories that I can remember are from 1980. Team USA win, Reagan elected, Lennon shot... I barely remember any real memories from the 70's at all!!

I am the same way. Aside from personal family moments, nothing really sticks out from the 70s for me.
I still love the music and the styles.Love like crazy everyday and smile.

Best fashion from the 70's? Bell bottom pants
Worst fashion from the 70's? Anything polyester
Best song from the 70's? Blondie. One Way or Another. lol. I wanted to be Deborah Harry when I grew up.
Best looking babe/sir from the 70's? I had a bad bad crush on John Schneider from the Dukes of Hazzard. A close second was Eric Estrada from CHIPS.
Best film from the 70's? I didn't see many films at the time but I do recall my Aunt taking us to the drive in to see Jaws.
Best trend or craze from the 70's? Oh my word I had forgotten about those toe socks til Natalka pointed them out. My sister had the EXACT same pair of rainbow ones. LOL
Worst trend or craze from the 70's? Pet rocks were incredibly dumb.
Best car or truck from the 70's? VW beetle. Endless hours of punch buggy fun while riding in the car.
Personal best thing to happen to you in the 70's (if applicable) I was born!
Add any further views on the 70's if you want! (70's pictures are strongly encouraged!)"Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle
