Shopping for Dad's 60th Birthday

Does anyone have any suggestion for what to buy my dad for his birthday. I find it's always impossible to think of something to get him, and Christmas just happened so I'm totally out of ideas.

He loves to read, but doesn't tend to buy books. He gets all his books from the library.
He likes to garden, but I've purchased him so many gardening books, seeds, outdoor decor.
He likes tea, but I know for sure that his cupboard is stocked with tea at the moment.
We got family photos done in the summer so he already has recent photos on the wall.
He also really likes baseball, but I got him a book about baseball for Christmas.

I feel like I'm left the the boring dad gifts - a tie, watch, a gadget or tool of some kind. Does anyone have any creative suggestions?

I'm not sure if its creative..or if your ok with it but what about taking your Dad out for lunch oh his birthday. or go over to his house and make him something there.. great one on one time.

Gift something which your Dad like most. Your dad love to read books, so it will be good option to give some nice books of his interest.

ipad? or e-reader device. He can download electronic books from the library. Also store his family pics.

Is he close to retirement ? Or already early-retired? Maybe tickets to the movies, or live shows if he is into that. Stuff like Jersey Boys ( along that line ) touches on the nostalgia that his age would tap their feet to. I know cuz DH just turned 60! He loved the Million Dollar Quartet Musical ( egads! I feel old)

Being around his age I would not advise getting most thinks mentioned unless you know exactly what to get, especially books. A trip to a favourite restaurant is not bad but I prefer my kids to ask me exactly what I want, sometimes they have to nag a bit but usually I do come up with what I want rather than something to be put away and never used.Despite what people say, I and lot of my generation also like gift cards as long as they are for places we frequent.I love going to the library so my son gave me an ebook reader a year ago and I still have not used it.

You can search "what a differance a day makes" on pinterest or try searching Lyric tree as well. These may would be great gifts for a special bday.
I also had a ring made for my hubby with our sons fingerprint engraved on it. I know there are people who do dog tags, keychains etc that way. Perhaps something with you and siblings fingerprints or grandkids if there are any.
