SCOP brag for a total stranger

I was in line at Sobeys today behind a woman with 3 boxes of Kashi cereal which is on sale this week for $3.99, regular price was $6.99.
When the first box scanned at the regular price, she pointed this out to the cashier who went to the display, confirmed the sale price, then changed the customer's price to the correct one.
I said, "Isn't she entitled to receive this for free?" to which the young cashier replied, "We only do that if the customer asks." She changed the price to zero, the woman smiled at me and said thanks.
The second different cereal also scanned the incorrect price, so I said, "I think she is entitled to that one free as it is a different UPC code", then the cashier changed it again, the woman smiled even bigger and said thanks again.
Cereal box #3 came up at the correct sale price.

Of course when it was my turn for my cereal to be scanned, my boxes all came up at the right sale price so no SCOP for me today!!
It felt good to help educate a fellow shopper about SCOP as she said she never heard of this practice!!

Very, Very Nice of you. I can just see the lady's smile

Last week I was at No Frills, I bought burgers. Price rang up as $9.99, price on shelf was $8.99. The customer behind me had the same box of burgers. While they were doing a price check, the customer and I had a little discussion. She already knew about SCOP. So we both got free burgers. The next customer in the line was very, very impressed about SCOP. She had never heard of it before.

I LOVE telling people in line ahead of me about SCOP when I hear them tell the cashier that the price on the sign was lower then what it rings in at. Most people have no idea despite signs being posted at almost every till.
