Hello Community,
We are thinking about repainting our shutters on our house and have no clue what color would look good. The house is red brick on the bottom half and white siding on the top. It is a 2 story split foyer and we currently have maroon/red shutters, but we are so sick of that. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

It would help maybe if you posted a picture of your home, I'm visual and can't imagine without seeing a picture (lol) and just to confirm they are outside shutters, correct?
2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

If you have a photo editor like photoshop or paintshop pro, you can take a photo of your house and change the paint color and see what it'd look like. Perhaps some paint/design store have an online editor that can do this.
Are the shutters going on the red brick or on the white siding or both? The best things in life...aren't things

I think it depends upon your personal likes and dislikes. If your brick home is red brick, then I might choose black. Cream or white might be nice, but they won't stay clean looking for very long. I've seen some homes with dark grey, but I didn't like it very much. Some people decide to go with a brighter colour and others like something more neutral. I'd pick a couple of colours that I like and then hold them up to your home (beside the brick). Then you can see which one you like best.

I think you have to go with dark. if you're sick of maroon/red, then how about dark blue, dark brown, dark gray, all of which must match the tone of the red brick.
If the house on the bottom is dark (red brick) and on the top white (siding), then it has a tendency to look shorter than it is.
This is why the shutters on top need to be dark too, to draw the eye up.
