Two Beautiful Kittens
I Just want to share my story and get the word out more about this disease .
In January 2010 my sister and i picked up these 2 beautiful kittens from a couple in halifax they where from a litter of 4. The gray one we named Dipstick and the Black one was Mini in 2012 both tested positive of Feline Leukemia givin to them by there mother at birth. This is a highly contagious and non cureable disease amoung cats and it kills. Dipstick developed a tumor pushing on her lungs and stomach causeing her to not be able to eat or breath and hardly move. November she left us. Mini Developed not only a tumor but her lung collapsed on her she had air in her chest and couldnt breath and a tumor pushing on her stomach so she couldnt eat. Yesterday she left us. This disease is very common and very contagious past on by a mother giving birth to her litter or an infected cat/kitten grooming, biting or sharring dishes and litter boxes with another. These two kittens barely 2 years old did no have to suffer and the certainly didnt have to die and no other cat should have to either because of this disease so please get your cat/cats tested and vacined, be aware of this when shopping for a new family member and if you know your cat has it please get them fixed so they dont pass it to a new litter

I'm deeply sorry for your loss!!!
And I agree 100% with what you recommend.

Most vets will recommend the vaccination for that, I know mine insisted on it with all 3 cats. So very sorry that their lives were cut short by that awful disease.

I am very sorry to hear that :( It's so heart breaking...
