Okay, don't laugh!! I know our Daughter did!
I found a cheque I never cashed from a former employer and asked her if it's casheable...she wrote back....LMAO..no, Mom, sorry...
I think she was laughing at me. Can you imagine anyone forgetting to do that?!
It was when my hubby had his heart attack, was hospitalized, had stents put in, etc, etc...and I guess I just shoved it in the drawer and never thought about it again!!
I think that's pretty much the dumbest thing I've ever done...but thankfully hubby is fine, and we obviously didn't miss the money.
But sheesh!!! D-u-m-b!!!This thread is currently associated with: Guess

If the company's still in business, I'd phone or e-mail and ask if they can issue a replacement. There's no harm asking and who knows..they may just honour their debt.
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

You can't cash a check once it becomes 6 months old. It's then a "stale" check.

Whoopsie! I would be bawling over a $1000 cheque that did not make it to my bank account.

Oh, gee, that's crazy, but too bad....
Gosh, I wish I had the kind of life where I could have been in that circumstance to forget to cash a cheque!
