Good thing I have it reserved under DS's and DD's cards. I knew it would take me awhile to get through this one.

two kinds of truth - michael connelly

    disappointing.
two intertwined stories but it seemed like he didn't have enough to flesh out either enough for a book and so linked them to create one book.
the stories were interesting but shallow.

It is a British police procedural/thriller/mystery but it is exceptionally well written and moving at an excellent pace.

    Missing, Presumed by Susie Steiner

If you have watched the BBC series Broadchurch or are a fan of Olivia Coleman then you will love the main detective, she is written in a similar realistic and self deprecating style
Love Broadchurch, love Olivia Coleman so this is going on my list. Thanks

    hillbilly elegy - j.d. vance

nicely written by someone who managed to get out of the backwoods. depressing to know that there are still so many children being brought up in that environment with little hope of moving into mainsteam society.
    very insightful and self-aware author.

If you like police procedurals (heartgirl, me thinks this is you) try out John Sandford. I am just wrapping up "Deep Freeze" and it is good so far.

He is actually a pulitzer prize winning journalist named John Camp and his writing isnt fading like some of the popular authors who crank out books to meet popular demand.

I suggest starting with any of the "Prey" books, Winter Prey or Phantom Prey are particularly good.
