For about a year now, I’ve had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I’ve been to doctors, had sleep studies done, tried melatonin (which worked for a little while, but then stopped), and even used a weighted blanket. All of these helped a bit, but none have been a permanent solution.
Lately, I’ve been reading a lot about something called structured water and how it might help improve sleep problems. I came across an article about how certain types of water – particularly those that are "structured" – can help improve our body’s energy flow, optimize hydration, and even balance our circadian rhythms, which in turn could help with sleep.
At first, I was pretty skeptical, but the more I looked into it, the more intrigued I became. It turns out that structured water has a unique molecular structure, which makes it easier for our cells to absorb and use it. This has potential benefits in many areas of health, but what really stood out to me was its possible connection to sleep quality. It’s said that the type of water we drink could influence the way our body responds to stress, inflammation, and other factors that might be affecting sleep.
Has anyone here had experience with structured water for sleep issues?
I came across a company called Somavedic, and they claim to have devices that help improve water structure and could possibly aid in better sleep. They even have a page that explains more about sleep and how structured water might play a role in solving sleep problems (here you can find out more about it https://somavedic.com/pages/sleep-problems )

Now, I know it all sounds a bit out there, and I’m not typically someone to jump on the latest “wellness trend,” but honestly, I’m desperate at this point. I’m willing to try anything that might give me a fighting chance at sleeping through the night.

Do you happen to live on a noisy street?

I have heard that even though nocturnal noise may not be sufficient to actually bring you out of sleep, even a low level of ambient noise can break your sleep rhythm by waking you just enough so that you will not enjoy deeper sleep. One person managed to get better sleep by simply wearing earplugs.

Personally, I have tried the earplug solution and did find improvement on my own sleep pattern. For a few years, traffic was re-routed onto my street, due to construction elsewhere. In the middle of the night, we had the occasional idiot who would race down the street or someone would have a faulty muffler. The nights I stayed up, I heard them. It made me wonder about the nights when I was already asleep. After wearing the earplugs for awhile, I felt that I had a better night of sleep.

Another consideration for you might be the ambient room temperature. Is your room too cold at night? Could your body be waking you by attempting to shiver and thus generate body heat? I also had some experience with this effect. An additional blanket solved my problem.

Ellena...I have a terrible time at falling and staying asleep. I've tried just about everything...and some things helped. Among the helpful things: exercising during the day, not snacking at night, not drinking anything past about 7, changing the sheets often, a white noise machine, a cat across my legs (because I won't move and disturb her), listening to my husband's breathing... I try to rerun music in my mind and rehear the sound of wind or waves. I know you've probably tried all these tricks, as well, but I don't have any exotic answers. The white noise machine does actually work for me, however. I just skip over the buttons that offer the sound of a stream etc. and go right for the static. Good luck to you, cutie, because there is nothing better than a good, deep sleep for making life look sunny.

I have been struggling with lack of sleep for a little over 4 years. I mean struggling as in I was lucky to get maybe 4 hours and of those they were not quality and broken up. I would routinely get just over 3hrs! My sleep journey has been a long one but what has worked for me personally is:

1- Set sleep schedule (I’m in bed by 8:30 but I’m up at 4:30, even on holidays and days off)
2- Dark room and as cold as possible
3- No screen time (even tv) 30/45 minutes before
4- Sometimes I’ll play rain falling from Spotify on my Beats Pill to help with any outside noise.
5- This should be #1 actually is progesterone. Not sure of your stage of life but for me it was the thing that turned everything around.

I also do the usual no alcohol, not eating before bedtime and exercising during the day. Now I’m getting 7-7.5 hours uninterrupted and working on getting 8-9 if I can. I am beyond grateful to be getting what I am currently.

I don’t get the water thing but then again I totally understand your sheer frustration with lack of sleep and wanting to try anything to just sleep. I hope you find what works for you and you get some much deserved sleep.
