I did a bit more digging.....it is better to waiting for 3 months in between if you cancel it and re-apply for the same card

Spend $500 in first 3 months should be relatively easy. You can use the card for drug store, costco, treval, gas purchases. You can also buy superstore gift cards from drugstores and then use it for groceries. You get double points this way.
