    Hi All,

I am Debba1c and I'm new to the forum. I've been following SC for a while, but just created a profile yesterday.

I have a bunch of coupons I want to offer for trade, but I don't really know where to start. When I look in the forum I see wish lists with specific coupons. My question is, does my wish list have to specify the exact coupons I want (ie value, expiry etc.) or can I just say "any Sunlight coupon over $1.50" or something along those lines.

I read the blog on trade values but I don't really understand it. Maybe that will come with time. Basically, if it's just coupons being traded, wouldn't you trade $5 worth of coupons for $5 worth of coupons?

    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to Smart Canucks

When I first started, I didn't know what was "out there", so I simply put in what I needed (i.e. Sunlight, Amooza, Black Diamond block cheese) without the actual value $$. As I browsed through other people's trade lists in search of things that I needed, I was able to see exactly what the amounts were. For instance, there are $1.50 Sunlight and $3 Sunglight coupons...so speciying what you're looking for not only makes your life easier, but the people's who want to trade with you as well . I suggest browsing through some trade lists and getting an idea of what's available. The other great way of seeing what's circulating is in the "coupons" section of Smart Canucks. To be even more precise, the dollars & cents coupon scan is great since it shows you all of the coupons that people have found in stores, received in the mail, etc. Here's the link to it: http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/334653-...2013-a-canada/

Most people prefer a trade of $5-$10 value to make the postage worth it. This is especially true for those who trade a lot . For the most part, trades are to be of a more or less equal value (i.e. my $5 worth for your $5 worth). However, there are some coupons that are considered more "high value" (i.e. harder to obtain, a yearly coupon, a call-in coupon, a replacement cheque) which will be at the discretion of the trader in how he/she prefers to trade. Also, FPC (free product coupons) are usually traded for other FPCs of more or less the same value (i.e I wouldn't trade a chocolate bar FPC for a Sunglight FPC). I hope this makes a bit more sense.

It's overwhelming in the beginning, but you will eventually get the hang of it. Plus, there are so many amazing people here who will help you out, so don't hesitate to ask any questions!
Complete quick surveys and cash out at every $20. Receive a cheque, deposit it into your bank. That easy! https://legerweb.com/2Q7V3

Thank you so much Natynat, I really appreciate it!

So, if I post what I have available for trade, and what I'm looking for, will someone then contact me and offer their abc coupons in exchange for my xyz coupons?

You can post a tradelist / wishlist here http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/canadia...ng-discussion/ In the 'title' of your thread you can post whatever you like but a lot of people will post some of their best 'FT' (for trade) coupons or some of the 'LF' (looking for) coupons. People will look at your lists and contact you to see if you can work out a trade. Or you can always contact other posters if they have something you are looking for. hope this helps

Everyone does their list differently but I've found the easiest way for me to keep track of everything is to have 3 different word documents - "Trade List" - contains all coupons I have for trade, "Trades in Negotiation" & "Mailed Trades"
