Tax time is upon us. This is on rollback originally for $38.96 now just $28.98.

I think you can PM at Staples, Future Shop and Best Buy to get an additional 10% off. Cheapiest I've seen so far.

Yes indeed, this is the lowest price for TurboTax Standard. I bought it for $38.96 from WM 1 week ago, and I will try price adjustment or Return and Buy again at the lower price. Thank you for posting.

If you have just a basic tax return, you can use StudioTax for free. I'm not sure if they have an income limitation, but I've been using it and it works fine.

    Edit: No income limitation.

Today I saw at Future's shop website it was 19.99 I think, now don't know it was standard or what.

Thanks both of you! I am taking the plunge with Studio tax this time, tired of paying for Turbo Tax and only doing a few returns on it each year.

Just wondering - what does purchasing the software get you? I just did DH's taxes on Turbo Tax online (which also has a free option if it's just a very basic return), and then wondered what the software offered that online doesn't? To do a return that is a little more than basic (such as medical expense claims), the price was $17.99. I've also used Ufile online before, and I think that is $15.99. I found Turbotax to be just a little more user friendly though.

I used to do Turbotax online but now we buy a box because you can do up to 8 tax returns with it. So pay $30 and do taxes for 4 people comes to $7.5 each. I share my box with my parents and brother

I refuse to use Ufile ever since they lost all my tax information from previous years and never bothered to help or apologize

+2 i don't see why people purchase tax software if its just for a family basic tax preparation.
