Has anyone ever thought of the people who might truly need this coupon for the ACTUAL product? Instead of the overage.

My family member is terminal with brain cancer and needs tena pads.. the discount would greatly help her > I am sure others who truly need the product are having a hard time finding a discount because of all the abuse.

I have gotten 2 which i used to buy other tena briefs for her NOT my groceries.

There is a right way to do things.
There is no one excuse that anyone could say to me to justify opening packages prior to purchase.

As an LPO had I witnessed any customer doing that:
They could be escorted out of the store on the spot, at which time the LPO would go upstairs and review the Video and post their picture for future surveillance.
Just the same as they do for suspected shoplifters. Customers can be searched and subsequently banned from larger Retail Chains. That ban could be anywhere from 30 days to a year, IF you are caught on premises you could be looking at Trespassing charges. And that is not just for the store in which you were caught that goes chainwide. Lastly you can face a multitude of charges b/c until you actually physically pay for the products they are property of the store.

For 97cents you could have legally done the transaction. With that $5coupon you could've done seperate transactions. With 5 products in each one.
Opening each package after each transaction. And while inconvenient it would have been perfectly legal.

So why then did my WM stop me from continuing? I did EXACTLY that. I purchased the Tena with the coupons, 1 trial pack with every $5.00 coupon used....and after opening the 4 or 5 I had just bought in my vehicle, I went back in to repeat. So seems no matter what, someone does not like it when we get things for free.

I am so sorry to hear about your relative. May their days be pain free.

But you have voiced something that I've been trying not to post. People who need these products could benefit from the coupons but have no chance at them.

Because WM has the right to limit coupon usage as outlined in their coupon policy

I am not jealous nor do I really think anyone else is - where people on here are having a problem is that you opened a product and removed something out of it before purchasing it.

Regardless if you asked a manager or not, too most it is not right to open packaging and remove anything without purchasing it first

When people post brags like this - and debates happen it seems to me that the poster is asking for it. It is debated because this is where ones couponing ethics come into play

Just my opinion and I was not being mean, rude or argumentative

WalkOnBy I can't give you a reason"why" it could be any number of things...
IF you are frequenting the same WM with the same Overaging coupons that could be why.
I can't tell Couponers enough there are certain behaviours LPOs look for.

Unfortunately because we are muddling thru binders/organizers/folders and occasionally spending a little too much time pulled off to the side of or end of an aisle some people don't know what to make of it. Thing is this is also typical of suspect behaviour
Which at times can bring unwarranted attention to future shopping trips.

Remember whether we like it or lump it each store can choose to accept or reject any coupon. It could be a directive from
management or CSMs or even H.O. ESP where overages are concerned. As I said to you before Some Stores&Managers&CSMs balk at at the idea of paying the customer towards other purchases.

What I'm seeing personally and this is strictly an observation on my part.
WM is cracking down on using coupons on Sample Sizes that bear overage.

Manufacturers have begun rejecting coupons used on sample size items as it was not the Manufacturers intended target.
Yes even tho it reads "any" they are not moving the regular sized products. When they audit a promotion and the expected stock sales do not match the intended item they have the right to deny any remittances (as stated on coupon)

Zantac in particular have been redeemed for sample size. HENCE the rewording on the new Zantac coupons $1/$2 not valid on Trial sizes one per item and per customer and one per day. (I don't actually have the coupon on hand but it is strict in its wording.
IT is available at most of our WM but is kept behind the Pharmacy, They will sell it to you but will not accept coupons in Pharmacy

At my have WM coupons are vested by CSMs as soon as you reach $10 by an over ride. AGAIN because if the fake coupons
And photocopies that were accepted by the store. As a result it is day to day with Printables and when you present overage bearing coupons you will have to stand your ground on it.There will be those who take the coupons and allow overage. THERE will be those who only accept enough of the coupons to cover the purchase and will not give you overage. THEN there are the ones who seemingly give you a hard time just for sport. Keep in mind your attitude has much to do with what happens in the end. Being polite will get you much further than throwing down a gauntlet.

To some degree it will always be a crapshoot. Unilever & Collage Palmolive are becoming issues as the have no UPC Bar.
Same goes for some N.E.D.s. If you do everything on your end properly then it should not be a problem! Much like the weather we cannot control how the person behind the till will react (over react) But by doing things the right way you are making it that much easier for the next couponer who comes along. When you take the slippery slope then it negatively affects everyone who follows you.
