Either I am getting older or my wisdom teeth are kicking in - meaning the "wisdom" part, but I don't think I should take garbage from someone that was raised in the same area as me, with similar values, but has decided to be a pain, ungrateful, whiner -- even when others have bent over backward for them. There is never enough for them.
Well, darlin', enough is enough.
2013 is going to be a great year -- with or without you.

I so feel you pain. Take a deep breath, go outside and scream or my cure wine. I has one too but she is older than my by 9 yrs old and I swear I am the older one and she is about 18 or 19 years old. She isn't housebroken and refuses to clean or cook or do anything productive when I come to visit and one day I am going to slap her silly. But family is family and I am glad she lives 2,080.9 km cause if I lived closer I would be putting her up for adoption.

Oh, I understand as well.
In my case, it's my older brother, six years my senior. He turned out to be a real arse.
I just limit contact with him, period. I'm not missing anything.
Hope you find a way to handle things which brings you peace...

Thanks cath007. Thanks Natalka.
Surprised that there are so many with the same situation. Yes, will find a way to cope -- even find a positive out of all of this.

You are definately not alone, we grow older but not everyone "grow-ups)" I haven't talked to my brothers in 2 years as when I was in the hospital - they did come to visit me but have ignored me ever sincel.
I've sent them birthday cards, I've sent them a just because card with well wishes, Christmas cards and now I say screw them, I don't have the time or energy to care if they can't atleast send me a birthday card for me or my kids.
Who needs anymore bs in their lives - not me!2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

I feel so fortunate that I'm very close with my brother and sister. AND, they are housetrained and use their brains. I sympathize with all of you that have these type of issues. It's so hard to bite your tongue, especially when it's family. Now if we are taking about in-laws, well I can chime right in

Hm... I guess I should have mentioned I have five siblings, so it's not like the aforementioned brother leaves a hole...
I'm totally close with my two oldest sisters and my younger brother.
My next-oldest sister and me love each other, but she really doesn't like me, so contact is limited, but we are totally there for one another if need be. (That took a LONG while for me to come to terms with; she just could never embrace my black sheepness!)

I like the way you dealt with your aggravation Shwa ( used comedy posting the thread, and went to workout while the frustration was still hot in your veins!)
I think many of us relate very well to your post..........as for me? have ya got an hour of your time you don't want back?
babies teach us acceptance
