Am I a bad aunt?

Not a bad aunt at all. They are lazy parents and you are not their babysitter.

I have a 3yr old and we are always careful when we visit people. Even if we're visiting my BIL's 3 kids. They have plenty of toys but not age appropriate for my son, treadmill with power cable lying around, and things on the table that are not safe like scissors. I don't expect them to make sure their house is safe for my kids, we're the one who should look after our kid.

Wow! What a visit that was! I'm glad you stood up for yourself and your home and asked them to leave! That must have been a very uncomfortable situation for you and I'm glad you did what you felt was right. I am shocked to hear that children of those ages caused that damage and were behaving in such a manner. I am even more shocked that the mothers did nothing! I read a bunch of the comments and yes, while it may be overlooked sometimes (there was more than 1 mom though!) - parents do forget their children's toys/belongings, but all of them?! I don't have children myself yet and usually do visit those friends/family with children at their homes. However, when they visit at mine, I do what you do and have some toys available for them, should the parents forget to bring or they get bored of their usual stuff. If I was a parent and my child was misbehaving or damaged something, I would make sure I solve the problem! I am really sorry to hear of the damage that you were left with and I really do hope that they come around about this and formally apologize to you for the way their children and they acted on their way out!

Bad parenting. When I was a kid, we were taught to behave and not touch anything. We knew better! Children need more discipline these days. You did nothing wrong!!! I've seen my niece and nephew go wrong because they did not have too many rules, chores, or discipline. People need to be strict with their kids! They are NOT your friends, they are your children! Also, kids these days have everything! lol It is no big deal to go to their room because they have a TV, a computer, video games, etc! JMO.
