Safeway finds another way to rip their customers off

I hate Safeway. All I really buy from there is discount perishables and cheese because they have the light kind, their prices are terrible and their management is garbage, at least at my store.

My mother and I shop together every week. We sometimes stop by the Safeway deli counter for some of their chicken strips for lunch. Three or four is okay for the two of us as a small lunch. This costs anywhere from $2-3 dollars because they are measured by weight and are usually about $1.50 per hundred grams or so.

Imagine my surprise when we asked for 3, and all of the pieces were small, and the price came out to FIVE DOLLARS. They're charging by the piece now and reducing the size of them by at least 1/3 if not more.

Safeway is a place you really have to dig deep to find deals in in the first place. They're ripping off their customers and DON'T CARE.

I just saw somebody else post on their facebook about it so I know it can't just be my store.

they also got rid of the "family" size potato wedges and only have the fries containers now (3 containers small medium large ) and even the large is half the size of the the "family" size and costs more! (i used to buy a "family" size.. what was about 200ish grams and split it with my daughter)

The prices have increased greatly in the last few years. We have Safeway, IGA and Extra Foods to choose from. I was surprised when I went to the city and shopped at a Metro, lower prices by far.
