I am wondering if anyone out there has a price list for their basic items to help them decide what is a good deal or not when they see a sale. I am thinking about putting one together and curious to compare with others...

This is a good idea for students doing shopping for themselves for the first time. I know people that get overwhelmed, especially about buying meat.

i wanted a list like this a while back.
i found it a bit overwhelming to attempt making one by myself though.
i'd be willing to work with someone to create one.
    i just need some direction.

How about I will send you a list of staple grocery items and we can work on them together?

i was thinking rather than posting what a sale price is on a certain item, what if we just posted the usual or regular price?
then we can decide whether or not it's a worthy deal for us personally?
    know what i mean?

    joeandjohnny!

I know I am repeating myself but I am subscribed to The Krazy Coupon Lady newsletter for American shopping because we go to Ogdensburg New York sometimes and they have a wealth of ideas that we can also learn from such as a list like this and when is a stocking up price? Coupon binder headers free to download....Several of SCers are aware of this site and sometimes I wish wehad that kind of basics shared together.

    main: http://thekrazycouponlady.com/

    binder header pages: http://1.thekrazycouponlady.com/wp-c...der.pdf?9ca6b0
(do not ask me how to delete or add info/no clue how to use program..just use pen to change right now for me).

beginners page: stocking up prices ...and others..

Again this is an American sit and Does not beat Smartcanucks but these are guidelines that we can also evolve and help each other with I think.

Like this list you are requesting also would have nice to have too for me and still. Thanks for asking joeandjohnny!

    Hi,
I'm not sure if this will be of any help or not, but I created a spreadsheet for a donation project I am working on. I will paste below part of it so that you can get some price info for some of the products I have recently purchased.

You should still get the main idea of it
    Best of luck.

This is a great idea, especially for all the young people. My advice is to study your flyers, read comments on this site andyou will quickly learn what you are willing to pay for things! A deal for one person may not be such a great deal for others lol. I have a whole list of things now that I won't pay a cent for! It takes work and practice to get things free or almost free! Most good deals are posted on here as soon as the flyer comes out. I can tell you that Walmart has the panabello and dr oetker pizza on for 3.33 starting tomorrow. I have the $2 coupon so that's definately a "stocking up" price for me!
