So assume I have a purchase of 227$ before taxes.
25% off brings my total to 170$. Can I use 95,000 points to bring this total to zero?

Or is it the other way around:
Total of 227$ less 95,000 points (170$) brings my total to 57$.
25% off 57$ brings my OOP to 42$

If it is scenario 1, that is better than the 200$ redemption deal on Saturday...

Can someone confirm how it works?

I don't know but you could try scenario one and not tell them you plan to use your points till after the 25% coupon comes off. You can always cancel the purchase.

Yes you can do that BUT 25% off on regular prices only so depending on sale items and your shopping list Saturday's redemption may be better.

Coupon states discount may not exceed $50 at the bottom. So it would be $177.
That being said, I've found that the discount does sometimes go over the $50.

Wouldn't it be best to buy at least $200 of regular priced stuff. Then you would get the $50 ($200 * 25%) discount which would subtotal $150 and then get additional $20 of whatever you wanted (sale or regular price) to come to $170. If you are buying regular priced items it looks like you come out ahead if you redeem on the Friday. Basically getting $220 worth of stuff for $170 but only if $200 of your stuff is regular price.

So the system can distinguish between reg price and sale items and apply the discount only on reg price items?
I assumed the system was dumb and would just take 25% off the total... SDM is too smart to me.

I think system can distinguish, as when ever we buy any sale item, it is mentioned on the receipt beside that product and also mentioned at the end you saved $20 or 25 what ever.

I think it's scenario #2. On fine print it say 25% off purchase of $50 or more before taxes and AFTER redemptions. So you would redeem $170 from using 95000 points and whatever is left over would have 25% off applied to that.

I bought a nexus tablet with 25% coupon and redemption a couple of months ago.... I gave first the 25% coupon and after I redeemed

270$ -25%= 202,50$ - 170$ (95k pts) = 32,50 + 30,35$ (taxes on 202,50) = 63$ it's weird because the conditions on coupon were defenitively not respected..... and they were aware of the 50$ maximum rebate, but gave me 67,50 rebate
