Thread: How to turn a BAD day into a START the CAR moment!!!

    Today started off horrible, I was 1 1/2hrs late for work and when I called
    into work my boss was actually ok as it happens sometimes

    Needless to say as the day passed by it seem to get worse -
    but the tables turned around on my way home

    Stopped into Zellers as they are in their final clearance days to see what kind of deals I could find
    as I am despritely seeking casual work clothes

    Here is what I managed to snag

    1 x Sentiments Plain White Bra - REG $16.97
    1 x Sportek Plain White T-Shirt - REG $9.97
    1 x Carroll Reed Cream Turtle Neck Sweater - REG $19.97
    1 x Alfred Sung Raspberry Long Sleeve Shirt - REG $12.97
    1 x Alfred Sung Charcoal Turtle Neck Sweater - REG $29.97

    Retail = $89.95

    I paid $24.59 after taxes SAVED $67.90

    Retail = $63.79 after taxes

    However I did NOT pay that and if my math is correct this is where my START THE CAR moment happens




    I used 6 x $5 Kellogg's Gas Cards to bring my OOP down to $33.79

    I will get back $33 for the mail in rebates bringing my cost for all 5 PF products to $3.79

    Today I received 20x on each one earning me essentially $10 back (8,000 redemption) so I am ahead $6.21

    I will also receive another 20x the points on Mar 13th for the bonus coupon used today (another $10 redemption) bringing my ahead gain at SDM to $16.21

    So in the end when everything goes threw I will have paid $8.38 FOR EVERYTHING TODAY
    (Zellers $24.59 - $16.21)
    and I didn't use a single COUPON on anything

    Now if that is not a START THE CAR moment, I don't know what is

    Great finds Peachy! Glad you pointed out about the "non-coupon savings" as we sometimes find as good of deals without coupons. I have learned to accept it's not always about the coupons lol!
