Sounds like another scam

Just received a very exciting phone call telling me they (don't know who THEY are) will be sending me a $50 Walmart gift card. Then the catch; I could sign up today for this one-time offer for $3.95. This would allow me to go to their website where I can print coupons, have access to 50% discounts for such things as groceries, pharmacies, etc. He did mention 60 months of service. Just thinking that if I had agreed I would have been agreeing to a 60 month contract at possibly $3.95 a month. I didn't take the bait ($50 Walmart card is pretty good bait) and had to tell him several times that I didn't want to sign up for the offer today. Apparently they will be emailing me and I am supposed to click on link and enter email address and password. Seriously??? :yikes:Anyone else get this phone call. Never heard of this one before. This is probably gonna post in the wrong place but didn't know how to choose where to post.

Never heard of this one before the only call I ever get is that stupid one saying I won a cruise lol. What was the name of the company/ site . Thanks :)

Very obscure with details. I don't think he gave a company name or location, or it may have been lost with the accent.

I had one saying I won a 100 $ gift card and if I sent 100$ to them I could send my recipt and then they would send me 100$ back lol nuts

Sounds pretty crazy. I only get the cruise one aswell... in the middle of the night the phone rings and you hear that horn go RMMMMMMMMMMM and im fully awake by then ... jeeze cant they make the messages any better...you use the horn to wake up the whole ocean ...not to wake me up and blare it in my ear.

Avoiding the scam - good brag

I got an email from someone saying they want to give me a share of their lottery win (a few million bucks). All I have to do is reply. Needless to say I didn't.

I get so many of these on emails and the more I block and block domain the more pops up...What can I do? I'm with Rogers and seeral go to SPAM but still get like 40 a day. I do not go in them to try to unsubcribe in case it is a virus.Does anyone have a solution?

UGH I get this one too but during the day because we have our phone automatically turn the ringer off from 11pm to 7am. Still, its pretty annoying. "BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM This is your captain calling" "Yup, Hi Captain, this is me hanging up now".

But I also get a lot of calls about timeshares where if I come and listen to their 2 hour presentation they will give me a prize. Or ones about disney vacations all inclusive etc etc. Just tell them not interested I don't like vacations, that usually shocks them. hahaha

I used to get e-mails form US "soliders" who captured Saddam Hussien and wanted my help to get some of his fortune out of Iraq. Now I'm getting them from US Navy SEALs who have bin Laden's fortune...

The sad thing is that people actually fall for these kinds of things! Shame on them for fooling you but shame on you for falling for it! (I know you didn't, just speaking generally)
