That's why people are leaving the "church" because they are starting to see it for what it is. Many still remain faithful but do so in their own way.

31 million Euro mansion may be turned into soup kitchen
The luxury residence that helped German bishop Franz Peter Tebartz-van Elst earn the nickname ‘The Bishop of Bling’ may be turned into a soup kitchen or refugee centre.
The complex in Limburg was renovated at a cost of 31 million-euros (£26.4 million), a figure that has sparked outrage in Germany.
However, it may now be used for the benefit of the needy, according to a newspaper report.

7 yr old boy upstages Pope Francis
It was a day to celebrate families but one little boy took it a bit further and managed to steal the show when he got on stage with the Pope.
The Pontiff was addressing a crowd of families at the Vatican when the youngster wandered on stage.
Identified only as the 'boy in yellow' the lad stared at Pope Francis as he spoke to the crowds in St Peter's Square, CBS News reports.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, patriarch of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, on 25 November, with the special permission of Pope Francis, led a solemn Pontifical Divine Liturgy at the altar of the Vatican Basilica of St. Peter on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the laying of the relics of St. Josaphat, martyr for Church unity.
It is a rare circumstance that a bishop other than the Bishop of Rome offer Mass on the altar of Saint Peter’s because it is a reserved altar.
The bishop from our Eparchy was in attendance.
It's so beautiful there!

It is lovely there; I've been there. So much opulence.
Seems everyone else is supposed to be sharing their wealth with the
poor except the vatican. Maybe they should all ask: WWJD?

Home Depot founder claims "Pope fails to understand rich Americans"
In an interview with CNBC, Langone said that the donor, who he would not name, was becoming concerned at the message the Argentinian pope was espousing - in which he urges the rich to give more to the poor and attacks a 'culture of prosperity' that causes some to become 'incapable of feeling compassion for the poor'.
Langone told the network that he has personally raised his worries with Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishop of New York.
'I've told the cardinal, 'Your Eminence, this is one more hurdle I hope we don't have to deal with,' said Langone.
'You want to be careful about generalities. Rich people in one country don't act the same as rich people in another country.'
Worried that the Pope does not understand wealthy American's, Langone, who prays every morning, said that he has told Cardinal Dolan that 'you got more with honey than vinegar' and that he wants the archbishop to make it clear to the pope that wealthy Americans are the largest givers to charity in the world.
'There is no nation on earth that is so forthcoming, so giving,' he said to CNBC, adding that he hopes the pope can 'celebrate a positive point of view rather than focusing on the negative.'
He does worry, though he said, because of 'the vast difference between the Pope’s experience in Argentina and how we are in America. There is no nation on earth that is so forthcoming, so giving.'

The "church" happened.
The patriarchal society happened. Lies about the authors of the bible happened.
Constantine happened.
We didn't stand a chance.
Like I said: those über- rich clergy should ask themselves: WWJD?
If "hoarding riches and not sharing with the poor" is their answer: WRONG!

VATICAN CITY - Pope Francis on Sunday named 19 new cardinals, including Gerald Cyprien Lacroix, the Archbishop of Quebec.
The ceremony to formally install them as cardinals will be held Feb. 22 at the Vatican.
The native of Saint-Hilaire de Dorset, a small town 300 kilometres east of Montreal, was named Quebec's archbishop in 2011.
The 56-year-old worked for more than a decade in Colombia after being ordained as a priest in 1988.
Canada now has three cardinals, with Lacroix joining Jean-Claude Turcotte of Montreal and Thomas Collins of Toronto.
