Thank you sooooo much for posting :excited:.
if its 1 in 3 will win $5 off, i'll take a pass on this!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is it a guaranteed 5$ win for everyone?
Sorry, I read carefully the text on the flyer and they says in french 'Pas toutes les cartes sont gagnantes'. -> Not all the cards make you win. So you got 1 of 3 chances to get the 5$.
I will pass on that one too.
i will pass on this one too, happy that i took advantage of the last one
The odds for $5000 are NOT 1/6000. I'll show you why below:
-The scanned Scratch Card says "Win 1 of 3 $5000 Canadian Tire Gift Cards"
-Simple math tells us that their would only be 18,000 Scatch Cards for this event. (6000*3=18000)
-According to Wikipedia, Canadian Tire has 487 stores nationwide. Assuming each store gets an equal amount of Scratch Cards, that means each store will only get roughly 37 Scratch Cards. (18,000/487=36.96)
-If each store only got 37 Scratch Cards, they would be out of stock of them within the first thirty minutes of opening on the first day of the promotion.
Thanks OP!
So basically, if you have the time and the inclination, you could go to Canadian Tire Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with your sweetie or a friend(s) and get $5 of free items. Each. Theoretically, you could each do it multiple times at a single location. If there are multiple locations close to you, you could go to multiple locations...and do the same thing.
If that's the way it's going to work, I kinda like this scratch card event better than the usual scratch-card-delivered-with-the-flyer-event, because I only have access to one flyer - the one that arrives in my Publisac. But this way, with the cards being in store, likely at the cashes, I can access as many as I want. I just need to pick my items and get in line.
The win is approximately one in three.
Heres the back.... Yes only 1 in 3 chance... boo
