I know right, its very sad!! Just think of the ripple effect because of this. She doesn't just hit our store, she goes to all Walmarts, and all other stores in our area, and Surrey area also.

I think anytime someone gets pushy, demanding or threatening, it's probably because they're doing something wrong to begin with and that should be a red to the cashier. Personally, I expect the cashiers to read my coupons over with a fine tooth comb. I have nothing to hide, I understand they need to be careful and may not have seen that particular coupon before. I do my best to go when it's not busy and when I am not in a hurry.

I haven't yet experienced any negative situations with a cashier. Maybe I am too new to couponing. I think if I were to get a negative vibe, I'd ask them if there was a problem. Personally, I don't need to give my business or hard earned money where I am given attitude when I am doing nothing wrong. Sure there are fraudsters out there. Is that my fault ? No it's not.

All a business can do, is to teach their employees how to recognize fraud before it happens, but not lose sight of the average person, who is just trying to save a buck legitimately.

[QUOTE=RebeccafromHalifax;5348709 And later next month Shopper's Managers in the area are having a meeting to revise couponing in our area because of this.[/QUOTE]

Sorry, but SDM does have a coupon policy that I belive should be followed. Everytime a store chooses to go against a policy set by their head office, it just makes it harder and harder to even bother using coupons. A lot of the rants here are because managers choose to make their own policies that conflict with company policy. Disagree if you like but this is my honest opinion.

because coupons are FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE - I don't know how else to stress that!!!!!!!!!!!

Why should you or anyone else pay for something that was FREE hanging in the store - the more people buy from Ebay tear pad stealers will continue to exist

If people stopped buying coupons and Ebay actually stopped allowing this there would be more in the store for people to SHARE!!!!!

Sorry, but its not only people who sell on eBay that take all the tearpads, but also people who trade coupons. Also, sometimes the only way to get coupons that weren't released in all provinces are to buy them on ebay.
People who trade for these same coupons, want a lot in return as well.

    again JMHO.

I understand this is your opinion but I responded to the members quote on why hate Ebay, it is simple - there is a thing called or should be called "couponing ettique" and profiting from selling coupons is a

I understand that yes some who trade coupons do that but they are NOT profiting MONEY from them!! If people want to trade coupons for coupons it is a

Just because someone has 20 of 1 coupon doesn't mean they took the whole tear pad - I myself go religiously to each and every store in my area when new coupons are put out and take a couple from each on the day they get put out and may go back a couple days later

Maybe you just haven't found the right traders to trade with because myself included their are MANY SC members who would gladly trade over and beyond for the littlest thing off their wishlist

It is your right to purchase coupons off Ebay I just don't see why one would spend money out of their own pocket to do so when if you looked hard enough you could trade for them

Oh my Goodness. I was so delighted to find a random coupons from a coupon fairy in my local stores. But one day I found whole tear pads stuffed in products ( dove body wash I believe) the day the expired. Then realized that I was dealing with a Fairy in a hoarders clothing. Take what you will use and leave some for the rest of us. I hate so obvious greed and waste

I was at WM one day and a couple of girls came up with a cart full of Gain. I thought they must be smart canucks. I wander over and ask them what they are up to. They proudly tell me that they have $2 dollar off Gain coupons and are getting 48 bottles. This was their second trip. I if she could show me the coupon. Which she did. They are very bad photo copies of a American coupon. I tell her that these are not valid. I'm not sure if you are going to be able to get the Gain. She says we already did this on Friday. After this we are coming back for Pringles. So I go back and stand in line for my own transaction. At the cash their Cashier catches the mistake. They insist that the manager be called . Over the manager comes and approves the transaction. At the time I was shocked. Then someone suggested maybe they were all in the scam together.

Once the girls were through I asked the same manager why she accepted that coupon she gave me some BS because I must have looked Stupid or something. Anyhow a couple of days later I'm at WM again( shocking I know) The same cashier comes up to me and says the girls did come back for more but this time where refused. They made a big stink . She said she was really embarrassed. She was concerned they were going to call head office and complain. I said to her let them. They stole from the store. The coupon was clearly not valid in Canada. Someone should have called the bouncer the first time and had them removed from the store.
Just in case you ladies are on this site. Don't do it again. You will make it so that people can't get legit deals because of your abuse of the system. Also get off of Smart Canucks. There is a new site called DumbCanucks. You can go and share your scams there

To the orginal poster. Thanks for the Rant. I waited a long time to get that off of my chest

When i lived in saskatoon i started hanging out with some couponers who had their own group. Of course i was thrilled as all hell to finally havr coupoining friends that i didnt realize they were scammers. First instance i told them about the $3 any woolite printable, which happened to be two prints per computer. Told them about how the small bottles were $2.98 at walmart....I was at their house and the leader of the group started mass printing the coupon, all same upc, and starts counting them out to the other members. I say no thanks i printed my two at home i am good. They got tons of free mini bottles!!

When p&g became unstackable they would cut off the logo of the coupob and hide the fact that it was a p&g product so they could stack them. They would constantly be atacking unstackable products, i was legit. They always offered me stacks and i would refuse, telling them why. They said 'well i got away with it the other day youll be fine. They dont check the coupons'

    Thats not the point!!!!!

Then the $5 similac advance printable coupon comes out, the leader mass printed it even though it was one print per computer. She gave them to the other admin of the site. We were at walmart and she pm'd the similac advance jugs to $4.99 and wanted to use the $5 coupon to get them for free. Well first off this coupon was NOT valid on the jugs, it was valid on ready to feed but ONLY the cases!! So the cashier denies her and she causes a huge fit until they finally accept it. She had gotten 20 bottles!!!!!! I was so embarassed... i slowly stopped hanging out with them but would constantly see brag photos of free similac among others... she msged me one day. I confronted her about the coupon abuse she said it wasnt a big deal, she needed the formula and it was the cashiers stupidity for allowing it to be used. That she was going to keep doing it too!!! Gahh. I told her i didnt want anything to do with this anymore. All of a sudden i was bombarded by messages from the admins and leader of the group. All of which i ignored.

So friggin stupid!! People need to get a life. Fyi i know they are members of SC too. So if you're reading this...

Just so I understand this. You have people who come in, harass the cashiers to take fraudulent coupons, the cashier would be able to ID those people, they would show on your store videos and instead of addressing the people who are causing the problem, the ones who coupon legitimately are punished by reduced ability to coupon and a poopy attitude from the cashiers. Weird customer service..

It sounds like the problem in your store is the cashiers, train them properly and tell them to call a CSM if a customer tries to tell them something different than they've been trained.. then let the CSM handle it..
Be sure to click like and post a brag if you get the deal.. It makes my day!!! Flattery may just get you more deals

Be sure to double check your flyer, points and cashback offers~ YMMV

I can speak only for my store, and can't say much, except.... please don't assume that the problem people aren't being addressed.

I was referring to miss rebecca's remark " At my store we have banned a few ladies for fraudulent coupons and they still try to come in and we escort them. And later next month Shopper's Managers in the area are having a meeting to revise couponing in our area because of this"

I don't understand the need to revise if the problem people are being addressed

My store,,,not for much longer only a few more shifts, then vacation to see my sister in Ontario then training for Target. Yay. Every store is different with customers and when I do the coupon paperwork I personally see a lot of fraudulent coupons and when you have someone in a suit coming from headquarters to lecture the owner and audit you then you have to change your policy. I don't think people seriously understand how bad of a problem this is. This weekend we caught maybe 20 photoshoped or fraudulent coupons and some poorly done. It may be Shoppers coupon policy but its owned by someone who owns a few in the area and they lose money. I don't know how much but I know since December it has been a lot. I know my store has a sign saying 1 internet coupon per purchase and its attached to the register. I am a couponer raising 3 kids and a widower so they help me save money.

And yes I personally train my cashiers and at the back there are copies of all the illegal coupons and what coupons are acceptable. I have memos and busy times I am there looking over.
People have to realize that stores need to protect themselves and not lose money so if they are cautions with coupons they have every right to be. I love couponing but people need to look from the retailers point of view not just there point of view.
