The cheapest option would be an Apple Refurbished model. The quality and warranty are the same, and the price will be a bit lower. However, the latest generation refurbs do clear out quickly, so you have to pay attention to the site.

Otherwise, it's extremely rare to find a sale. Apple products are usually priced at the same level everywhere, and are mostly exempted from Coupons. Staples, Best Buy and Future Shop occasionally have sales, but these are rare.
It appears that Compu2000 is having a sale, but I would still shop around.

If you are tech savvy, I would recommend a hackintosh. They take a while to get working, but no matter laptop you pick, they will be cheaper than macs and have better specs too.
Search online for the best compatible laptop.

If you live around the ottawa area, I suggest the Algonquin College Computer Store. Great deal on apple stuff, usually a little order but they are trying to clear out old stock. Also they have amazing deals on refurb'd lab macs. Gently used but some as low as $400!!
If you, or anyone you know, qualifies for the education discount, you can get money off on your mbp. You have to be a post secondary student or a teacher. If you can wait until the summer, they have back to school offers on top of this discount. Last year's was $100 credit from the App Store, and the year before that was a free iPod Touch.
For the most part, retailers aren't allowed to mark down their Apple computers unless they are clearing out old models or it's an open box...in which case, you have to be there at the right time to benefit.
yes as the above poster stated
Apple every year puts on a Back to School savings event - the price of the products do not change but they throw in a gift - but you must be a student or faculty
Our store is a Apple reseller and I have yet to see any sale on any of their products except when they physically drop the price
I got a MacBook refurbished and saved $800. I love it. Looked just like new.....worked just like new. Same warranty.
yes,I am looking for it.
