Same here, I was at the LD South Edmonton Common, and had two wonderful male cashiers that just keep scanning every coupon I gave him - great free stuff - that happened on 2 different occasions. I have also had very good luck at both WM South Common and Windermere - but I always come with the can I use this attitude!! Will see about Walmart going tomorrow to price match old spice deo and use the save 3 dollar coupon with the save 5.00 when you buy 3 gillette products. - Free stuff is great

I agreed! People at LD are nicer. Every time I shop there and not sure how to stack they actually help me sort out which coupon go together. I have one cashier telling people behind me they better go to the other till because we gonna take a while. She also explain about the P&G and how we can't combine the coupons. Lol I usually goes when it's not busy and barely anyone standing to check out so I know people will not be mad at me and the cashier can help me.

I had an awful experience at the Leduc WM Thursday evening.

As always, I mentioned to the cashier that I would be using quite a few coupons as she rang my items through and apologized that it might take a few minutes to redeem them and that's when I got this reply: "Don't worry, I'm quitting soon anyways...because of people like you...I'm tired of these coupons everyday."

It took everything I had to stay pleasant with her until my transaction was completed.

As a cashier, I work for my employer. While I am providing customer service to you, the use of coupons, is still a ' privilege' and the retailer can choose whether or not to accept or honor them. Coupon-using-customers make up a very small percent of the daily sales. While every customer is a valued customer, and should be treated with respect, so to should every cashier. There is no excuse for rudeness, on either side. After all, it's not personal , it's just business. Store management should be made aware of a cashier's unprofessional behavior.

I totally agree with you. LD are nicer and easier to deal with. I've never had a problem PM or stacking. I always make sure I'm organized, and purchase smaller amounts(less than 10 items), high light the date, amount, conditions, and clearing house address. They appreciate the effort. Going first thing in the morning helps as well. If I have a big shopping trip planned, I call the manager in advance, and they order extra products for me. I always go up to the Customer Service desk, because usually the Service Specialist on duty can do her own 'over rides'.

I haven't experienced rudeness, I have noticed tension. I suspect a lot of cashiers are not confident on their stores coupon policy and are afraid of being reprimanded if they do something wrong. They see coupons as extra work, I understand how they feel.

I don't expect a cashier to burst out into a smile when I hand them coupons and I don't really care if they grumble. My primary concern is if they are entering them right.

I do not shop with a lot of coupons but I present them at the beginning of the transaction when their mind is still fresh and then when they are done all of the coupons I let them know that is all of the coupons and they seem relieved.

But also on the other hand some people expect a lot more customer service than I do or are very senstitive. I don't think its reasonable to expect a cashier to show glee when you give them coupons, I do not expect them to hide the discomfort on their faces but I do expect them not to make any negative comments.

I once mentioned something to a cashier, and she said "how do you know?" I think she thought I was from head office too, and I got the best service everrr!

Without the customers, they're no job for the cashier.
So IMO, the cashier works for me.
I agree with all of the above but also feel bad for the cashiers. They are getting it from both their managers and some bad couponers. I have heard stories of couponers who throw the product at the cashiers when they don't get their way or screaming and yelling at them, then they have their managers telling them that they have to be extremely careful because if they mess up on the coupons it will be their job.

I find I like the younger kids at Save On the best, they really don't care that you are using coupons, they just do their job and check them etc.

I have found Walmart and Zellers cashiers to be really rude and annoyed by coupons though every single time I've used them in those stores with elderly cashiers.

I had the manager at Wye save on tell me how he wished "we coupone people would go away" I told him that when he starts paying my bills and feeding my teenage eating machines for me I'd "go away" LOL

WOW he said that! maybe these store think if they are rude enough we will stop couponing, but thats unprofessional, thats just saying i wish my customers would go away. i see they are frustrated but we are bottom line customers bringing our money to their stores.

You know, I kinda feel for the managers of SaveOn. They know their customers and the cashiers have always been friendly. Now, it seems like since they started accepting stacks, they are getting "new" customers who come in, cherry pick, and are never seen again.

Who do you think they want to see? The people they've been dealing with for the last decade (and I've used coupons in Save on for that long) or the tlc students who come in cherry pick and aren't seen again for a few weeks or months?

I never shopped at SOF before they allowed stacking. Maybe if they would lower their overpriced items I would have in the past.

They want the new customers. It's all about marketing, their prices are much higher than anywhere else so why not allow stacking to bring in a new type of client. They know that people never come in just for thier planned items, you'll always add something or other to your cart. It's brilliant marketing when you think about it.

For those that have worked retail you know that for as many rude cashiers there is an equal number(or more) rude customers.

Our oldest worked as a cashier at Tims for 2 1/2 years...he quit to focus more on his Gr.12 studies but as well part of the decision was helped by the incredible rudeness of the some of the customers..

The stories he used to tell...like the guy who pulled up to the drive through refusing to move because he thought the potholes caused damage to his car..(this Tim Hortons is in a mall lot and the mall is responsible for the maintenance of the parking lot).

He said the best customers were the young guys in suits that just ordered their coffee..they were polite..

When someone looks at me for using a coupon I just smile..I do not fight..one guy at Shoppers said "do you have a coupon for everything?" and I said "almost" with a big smile..

But I am reasonable...I take a reasonable amount of sale items to use with coupons..There is no need to hoard..

That U.S extreme couponing show..sorry those people are nuts in my opinion..whole garages and basements packed full of stuff. No one can possibly use that much shampoo and toothpaste. One woman was even collecting diapers and she did not even have a baby..

That is not saving money...that is an illness...

I always, ALWAYS use self-checkout at Superstore and Safeway. There are pros and cons, but I personally like them better.
